So there will be two different models, one weaker and cheaper with no blu-ray reader and one uber powerful and expensive.

 Precisions :

 - Two Scarlett devices announced this E3: Lockhart and Anaconda
 - Lockhart = entry level device, no disc drive, digital focused machine
 - Anaconda = high end device, price similar to Xbox One X's launch price
 - Xbox should announce a disc drive less Xbox One in the coming months
 - Launch fall 2020
 - For the specs sheet, they say that this is what was rumored to be but can only confirm the presence of SSDs on both machines. They're NOT confirming the full sheet.
 - Halo Infinite is a launch crossgen game
 - Ninja Theory's game is slated for early 2020

Next gen is upon us.

I call fake. SSDs are freaking expensive and games will be even larger next gen. Zero reason for Microsoft to pay for that instead of improving other things.

The thing that got me was "not all of those specs are correct".

SSD doesn't make any sense because we are going more towards digital downloads.  (Unless they had a small SSD for something, but that doesn't really make sense.)

All physical games are installed to current systems so moving more towards downloads doesn't change much.

I was told at beginning of this gen there are consoles to you... it is called PS3 or 360 :P

PS. i'm changing my internet contract to 150Mbps Fiber.

I was thinking about 1000Mbps myself

High speed fibre is great, but its so painful when you have to go back to lower speeds. My mum's house only has 40Mbps and that gets annoying sometimes. Funny, when we first upgraded to that I thought it was so fast.

Thinking about this more, why would MS have 2 systems next gen if they also have gamepass streaming?

Xbox One could be the low cost option and Nextbox could run games locally for the players that really care.

Supposedly there's a low end model that's close to Xbox One X (Since TFLOPS don't tell the whole story), and a high end model that's like 3x better.

QuoteThe Verge senior editor Tom Warren also chimed in to reiterate that not all of the above specifications are accurate.

JeuxVideo states that release is scheduled for the end of 2020, and that Halo Infinite will be a launch title. Halo Infinite will reportedly also be available for Xbox One and PC, as originally announced, as "Microsoft is seeking to get rid of the concept of console generations."

Yeah so why bother with the low end if MS plans to stream games to Switch and could stream to Xbox One? Who is the target market for the low end device? It'd only be people with poor internet and not a lot of money, but that group isn't going to buy a next gen system close to launch anyway.

I can't help but wonder whether its the best strategy to launch with two models or have a second model launch halfway through like in this gen.

I suppose the Pro models in this gen didn't actual do much to extend console lifetimes, I think all they did was allow the price of the lower model to stay a bit higher meaning increased profits.

If both PS5 and nextbox launch with a basic and pro model, do you think they should release a pro pro halfway through which is even more powerful?
