Didn't see one on launch day here either, it actually almost looked like the stores I went to didn't receive any to begin with, but they were probably just sold out. But Amazon seems to still have the Pro, Amazon.de has even started bundling already, you can get one with Skyrim Remastered or Dishonored 2 for just 430€.

I seriously hope these are just some launch kinks, cause otherwise I'm certainly not picking up a Pro. Especially disappointed with Naughty Dog being such a blatant offender here, don't push for freaking 1800p then, if it means such a noticable hit to performance.
The key words here are 'minority' and 'majority'. There are far more games that actually run better and look better on the Pro and once the launch kinks have been ironed out we'll see all games looking and running better.

I certainly hope so, cause I don't care if it's just some games, I'm not buying another PS4 over the one I already own if it means that I could potentially get stuck with the worst performing version of a game I want to play, particularly if that game only targets 30fps in the first place.

There's a much bigger chance you'll get stuck with a better performing version, so if 'chance' is going to be the deciding factor for you then it's telling you to buy the Pro. :)

"Chance" in this case is a factor that only works negatively. I'm not buying a better piece of hardware because there's a high chance that every game will run better or at least as good as on the base hardware, while there's still a real possibility that a game may also run worse. I need a reasonably good guarantee that no games are going to perform worse at all and that even if one comes out performing worse, it's going to be patched quickly.

Let's be a bit clear here :)

TLOU on Pro runs at 1800p and better graphical setthings mataining a 1-2 framerate difference from the 1080p on OG PS4.

I will choose always this 1800p version over the OG version without think twice.

It is by far the best option in graphics and performance you have available to play this game... the others options you need to give too much in either graphics or performance including the OG PS4 options.

Do you know if it's possible to force games to run in PS4 mode? That seems counterproductive but could guarantee you always have the option of it at least being identical to the standard version.

*deletes PS4 pro patch*
Now I can play this game in its original perfection.

Delete the Pro patch and play offline?

That works for old games that are patched, not new games that have pro built in.

Kinda sad though that this even needs to thought about.

Yeah, so there really is no way, which means that as long as we hear about games running worse on Pro I won't consider getting one. Sorry but I'm adamant about that.

Yeah Pro should always run games better. If it doesn't then Sony should block Pro mode for those games.
