Quote from: kitler53 on Oct 20, 2016, 04:24 PMto me showing skyrim speaks volumes.  for an announcement of your console you're going to want to put your best foot forward.  apparently that best foot is a late port of a game that came out on ps3.

if that's the best they can do 3rd party support is non-relevant.
exactly what i was thinking. if all they had to show off was skyrim and NBA, then yeah, doesnt seem like they have "full third party support". hell, by the time NS (im not going to be calling it switch) skyrim and NBA would be out for months. Skyrim is a remaster for fudges sake, NBA is a yearly title.

show off For Honor, Ghost recon, Mass Effect, Prey or games like that.

this is just like the WiiU launch. fanboys were partying hard at first when they saw a list of devs and games like Mass Effect 3 releasing on the system. but it seems like the same thing now with the NS. Skyrim will be a "late port", just like ME3 was. and the rest of the lineup will have the same issues as the WiiU

But MK8 is only 6 months younger than Super Mario 3D world. I find it strange one would get a sequel while the other would just be ported.
I mean maybe the thinking at Nintendo is similar to what Pi-guy is saying: it's a freaking racing game how much can we really change with these? Why work their asses of to get a new Mario Kart ready for NS launch when they can just slightly update MK8. Maybe it is a new game who knows, but what's been shown in the trailer looks exactly like MK8 from an artstyle perspective and I'd kinda expect more from Nintendo in that department in an entirely new entry on a new sysrem.

Maybe it's MK8+.

The screenshot shows 2 items being held while MK8 only allows you to have one.

I know, but that's what I meant by them adding a couple little things to the game for the new system.

Also I just remembered that NX ports of Mario Kart 8, Splatoon as well as Smash Bros 4 have been rumoured for ages already.

lulz.

Update 2: While Bethesda's much beloved Skyrim was clearly shown during Nintendo's Switch reveal video, the publisher told us today that it's not officially confirming the game just yet. "We're happy to have had the opportunity to collaborate with Nintendo on the video. While we are not confirming any specific titles at this time, we are pleased to announce our partnership with Nintendo and support of the Switch. We look forward to revealing specific games and details in the future," a spokesperson said. Skyrim Remastered is set to launch on October 28 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC; perhaps the Switch will receive a version of the Remastered game at launch?

Why? Why wouldn't they just confirm the games?

because the game isn't coming to NS and this is epic false advertisement?

what is it that nintendo likes to say,... "imagine the possibilities".

Someone on GAF suggested "Please buy PS4/XBO skyrim games first, we'll talk about it later."

But lol, that's ridiculous.
Then Nintendo comes out and says "There are actually no NS games.  They were all made up for the show...."

People saying the console could be 400.... Just so obscene. If you break the handheld portion then you're left with a useless home console

Was this the weirdest console reveal ever?

I would have at least expected a Nintendo Direct announcement for the coming days. Basically everything we know about that system is in the 3 minute trailer. Zero info about the games shown on screen even.

I think it might be really smart actually. Much more mass market oriented reveal.

1.7 million views already.

Yes, a trailer with nothing but name, concept and hardware is very weak

Could have shown this at e3. Would be more impact full

This console is a downgrade on the Wii U.  Probably on par with a ps3 power wise.  Nintendo will roll out the same old,  same old games and they won't look any better than last gen.

fudge me sideways but if the NX was the only console on the market I'd give up gaming.  They can't compete with the big boys anymore and they're hoping the thing will take off with the mass kids market.

Well fudge that I ain't a kid no more.

Should have targeted Christmas launch

Quote from: DerNebel on Oct 20, 2016, 02:28 PMOh btw. all these scenarios in the video were totally relatable to me, finally I can bring my Mario to all of my roof parties
Everyone knows Germans have roof parties all the time. You guys get the music cranking, start playing your bomb dog Nintendo games, relive Oktoberfest, and then it all devolves into some wild orgy where the biggest question in the morning is always, "Where did the fudgy horse come from?". After all, this is how World War 2 got started.
