It's out of the top 20. If the game releases the month I post the list, it's included no matter where it is in the top 100. If the game releases more than a month from when I post it, then I include it only if it's in the top 20. That's why I have that line there. It just keeps the list more manageable.

Eve doesn't have a release date on it so I assume it's not releasing this month.

I don't think it's releasing this month. I could be wrong so if you know otherwise I'll add it back in.

Is there a retailer exclusive deal for the XB1 that I'm not aware of? I'm asking this because as of this post, the Gears LE bundle is below both the standard OG PS4 and UC4 LE bundle. None of the other XB1 SKUs are in the Top 100 either.

No retail exclusive deal from what I know.

I do expect Gears 4 to sell lower than Halo 5 and Uncharted 4.

That means less than 800k NPD.

The Gears bundle did ok at $450, it's the other bundles that underperformed on Amazon.

I hate that Amazon Japan doesn't have a yearly bestseller list, I wanna know where Persona 5 would land on that cause Persona 5 is still 5th on the hourly best seller list!!

I just checked the date and it seems Eve does indeed come out this month. I don't understand why they haven't got a date on it.

I think even the Gears bundle hasn't sold all that well. Compared to the Halo 5 LE bundle, which cost $500 back then:

Halo 5 LE Bundle

August 2015 - #24
September 2015 - Not in the Top 100
October 2015 - #25

Gears 4 LE Bundle

August 2016 - Not in the Top 100
September 2016 - Not in the Top 100
October 2016 (as of now) - #35

We see that the Halo 5 LE bundle clearly had better preorders. And with the way things are going now, the Gears bundle will not hit #25 for October, but instead will start dropping.

Yeah you're right it doesn't look good.

So now the S as been out for a while, is it safe to say MS's 'upgrade' approach could be the reason for the majority of sales and people upgrading from XB1 OG. Gribs has pointed this out a few times already. Could the knock on effect be the second hand market being flooded with second hand XB1s. So while the S did cause a sales spike, it could be followed by a huge slump which we are seeing now.

I said this a while back but that's where the PS4 has the advantage too. The PS4s is simply a cheaper version to produce so Sony can make money and sell it for less. The XB1s on the other hand is being sold on the fact it's a 'better' version of the XB1. This means it's more likely the OG PS4 will fair better in the second hand market than the OG XB1. This will (IMO) have a knock on effect. Shops will begin to build more unsold stock of the OG XB1 and so therefore offer less to people wanting to sell it on. Meanwhile the OG PS4 will keep its value better because a lot of people prefer the look of it and the PS4s only offers them a different aesthetic, which means it's more likely to retain a decent value and people will get better deals when trading it in.

That's only theoretical but makes sense to me. We're going to see a huge slump in XB1 sales next year. I'm more or less sure of it. The PS4 Pro should help Sony to retain (or even grow) a decent monthly average, something Sony themselves are counting on when you consider their 20m target.
