Street Fighter 5 has a record number of registered participants for EVO. So much so that they already had to spread the preliminary qualifying matches out across two days where it normally only takes one.

Lol, it's not Street Fighters fault that out of the like 6 million, or whatever the number was, people that played Killer Instinct not more have stuck with it to compete at an event like this.

Found it.  What a fudge up.  They didn't even attach it to Street Fighter 5.  Nor is it on the main page for addons.

I see now how dumb is story mode in fighting games... I'm playing because well the story... the fighting between the story is weak and not up to take my time.

I prefer to watch all the story without play. Let me use online to play.

You should see the reactions to this on reddit, people that used an exploit to "only get the colors" that just so happens to also give 1.3 million fight money, which is enough for 13 characters, are now surprised and legitimately pissed that Capcom is planning to take measures against them. I love that these guys actually have the audacity to pretend that they were never going to use that fight money.

I mean what did people expect?

BTW I have a huge critic about the colors that are unlocked per costume and not character... I'm fine having to play the Survival to get all colors to one characters but I want to use these colors in all his costumes... the requiriment to finish Survival again to get colors to that specific costume is ridiculous.

Yeah that's super stupid I agree. But Capcom said they were looking at new ways to unlock colors. And they are going to share new info on the game at Evo tomorrow I believe, so maybe they'll talk about it there. Hopefully no loot crates or something like that.

Yeah.  It also sucks that you don't get fight money for unlocking more colours for different costumes.  Lame

So looks like Capcom dun goofed and people are mad... once again.

For one their solution to the color situation really seems to be to just make them purchasable, no word on price range or if you'll be able to use fight money, but yeah weak that that's the best thing they could come up with. (There have however been parts of the community that openly asked Capcom to just make colors purchasable, that should be noted.)

The other thing is the CPT DLC pack they are releasing, which people consider varying degrees of overpriced at $25. It includes 3 costumes (worth $6 a piece), a stage (worth $10), a new color for each fighter and a couple titles or whatever they are called. Part of the revenue from this will go to the CPT pots but this still seems like a pretty steep prize for what's there.

Other than that they announced that Chun-Li and Mika's beach outfits are now available, as well as that they are working on Nostalgic skins, like SFIII skins for Ibuki and Alex, snd the Bison stage from SFII coming to SFV.

Overall,...  yeah I'm not really sure what hole Capcom is trying to dig itself in here.
