Super Street Fighter 5: Best fighting game ever! 5/10

Juri coming at the end of the month according to Ono.

Sad.  I did not like the way she played at all.  Making her spin kick a "stock" move was stupid.  I was really looking forward to her cause I was imagining the crazy shame they could have done with Street Fighter 5's mechanics.  Like, she plays a lot like a Street Fighter 5 character in Street Fighter 4, but the way they slowed her down.  Really disappointed.  They killed all her combos.  The censorship doesn't help either.

I don't mind it either way. She's still sexy as hell. It just doesn't make any sense to cover her up and then right after start introducing more skimpy outfits. Karin in a bikini and Laura's first battle costume being fairly revealing in the same patch. Chun Li's swimsuit costume that was just released has a pretty eye catching top. I guess I'm just confused as to what kind of line Capcom is drawing for itself when it comes to sexy and suggestive. Because it looks like the line was made by someone with Parkinson's disease.

Maybe Capcom just decided it looks better that way and wasn't trying to censor anything. It's a pretty common opinion that the version in the game looks better than the mods made to reveal the skin after all.

Funny, I find it equally common to hear or read the opinion that they shouldn't have changed it. Regardless of opinion, fact remains it was changed. The original artwork of Juri was an open chest outfit. That means at some point they just suddenly decided to cover her up. I'm not going to get into another pointless debate about whether or not something is censorship, but it was definitely a change to a less revealing outfit from the original vision of the character we were teased with.

Capcom has been very odd about their choices. Don't show a butt slap but show that butt, which is otherwise on frequent display, getting rammed into someone's face. Change the angle of Cammy's intro so it's not a brief up crotch shot but now let's put Karin in a bikini where the camera angle of her intro is aimed right up her dog for a brief time. So the question in my mind is why avoid that shot, change that angle, and cover that character up if you were going to just do all that other stuff? Capcom already admitted to changing Mika's butt slap and Cammy's intro angle because they were worried about who would buy the game. Which is why I'm really confused about their clearly uncaring choices elsewhere.

That's my whole point. I just don't get the thought process. Juri will almost certainly have a revealing outfit, sure. Capcom has made it pretty clear that her character has a somewhat twisted sexuality to her and that it's fairly close to the surface. So for Juri to NOT have an outfit that doesn't show off considerable skin would be strange because it fits her more than most other female characters in the SF universe. Though right now the leaked costumes all have her fairly or considerably covered up. It's just that when I look at the reasons behind the changes to Mika and Cammy, changes that prove silly for the reasons they gave when you look at everything else they've done, I can't help but feel like the change to Juri's default outfit was some kind of kneejerk reaction that makes little sense in the face of all the other outfits, angles, and arguably suggestive moments.

Fun fact: Fuudo was required to use the "Story 1" costume after his first match because the default was deemed too revealing by ESPN.

I think Capcom will play safe with the default Juri and only abuse with alt costumes.

I guess the question is bigger than only Capcom doing weird things.

Apparently they got rid of Cammy's nipple silhouettes from the game in the last update.  I didn't actually check to verify yet.

I'm okay with this on the grounds that it anatomically made no sense and no other female character had nipple silhouette. It's not like Cammy was permanently cold or aroused. An incredibly tight outfit like she wears would not allow for something like that unless her two natural pines were a rather firm silicon in that shape.

So, as I said, in that sense I'm fine with it. The kind of things that upset me are these moral hangups that force camera angle changes and outfits to be redone because someone can't handle a gesture, seeing a body from a certain angle, or a character dressed provactively.

Chun Li still has hers .  Though it's weird cause I never noticed them.  They're not there in the character select screen.  Nor did I ever notice them during the game.  I also even went through old screen shots and nothing.  Well there's a few screenshots, but it's barely noticeable.  When I booted up the game I noticed them slightly still.  I'll have to do her super and then go frame by frame in the share.  

One theory is that Capcom is actually scared to lose its Cero B rating in Japan since nipples are actually a no-no (DOA doesn't have anything like that for instance and, well, we know what that game was made for).  

On another note, ESPN told Fudo to change to Mika's story costume because they felt her original costume is too revealing...

I hope they fix her, I wanted to main her.  I also hope they get a sexy costume ready since they ruined her regular one.
