1.4 million in that time frame isn't that bad for a game that released barebones and charged full price for it. The FGC is definitely gobbling it up. Twitch views are consistently high and it looks to set a record for number of people registering for it at EVO.

Dr. Pezus

It's bad compared to SFIV though.

Not really. I actually can't even watch Street Fighter 4 anymore, the game's way to slow compared to 5.

I mean sales wise. Barely 150-200k on PC and just over 1m on PS4 shipped.

Oh.  Yeah.  But remember, Street Fighter 4 had 8 years, 3 re-releases and severely discounted prices to sell 8 million.

But it still sold a lot more in the beginning too, right? I'm sure we have data. I remember it being significantly down in NPD

Yeah, but like I said, Super Street Fighter 4 was released as a budget price title a year or so after 4.  Then a year or so after Super Street Fighter 4 was replaced with the AE edition which was priced even cheaper.  Ultra replaced AE at the same price.  Plus you could pay an upgrade fee from Super to AE and AE to Ultra (Or Super to Ultra).  Is Capcom counting those upgrade fees as a sku sale?  How many people re-bought the game to get Super from 4?  Unless Capcom changes things, this game is getting none of those re-releases.  It's impossible for Street Fighter 5 to sell even remotely close to 4 because there's not going to be any double dipping or upgrade.  Did the game sell less than expectation?  Yes, by roughly 600k.  Will the game sell decently over its life?  I think so.  It also depends when Capcom drops the price of 5.  Like, it's going to be impossible for the title to sell more than 4 million lifetime whether the word of mouth was good or bad.

It's not just 600k though. That doesn't seem much until we look at it percentage wise. They missed their target/expectation by 30%.

Then again, when I look at this: CAPCOM | Platinum Titles
I see SFIV only shipped 3.4m by itself but most of that will have been sold in its first year I guess.
So SFV still has some time to get to half-decent sales compared to the last entry

Capcom: "Sales Target: 2 million by the end of March"
Reality: "1.4 million sales by the end of March"
2 million - 1.4 million = 600k...
Plus after the first year of Street Fighter 4's life, the price got cut down to budget since Super released.  How much of the 3.4 million was at full price?  How much more was at the discount?  Thing is, Street Fighter 5's life time sales were never going to be extraordinarily high because of the lack of re-releases.

Everybody panic!!! Anyway I'm sure you're aware it's already appeared with 15 pre orders.  (the more expensive ps4 version).

BATTLEBORN VICTORIOUS

09/May/2016
New IP from 'Borderlands' indie developer Gearbox Software debuts at No1.

The 2K and Take 2 published 'Battleborn' takes the top spot and is a first No1 for the Take 2 family for over a year (last was GTA V in week 11, 2015). There's not a lot else happening this week as the UK receives some summer sunshine and overall sales slump by 11% over last week. Activision's 'Call of Duty: Black Ops III' continues at No2 (-3%) and Sony's 'Ratchet & Clank' (-51%) drops from a two week stint at No1 to No3. Rockstar and Take 2's 'GTA V' continues to climb another 4 places to No4 this week (+20%) and Ubisoft drop one place to No5 with 'Tom Clancy's The Division' (-28%), making it 9 weeks within the Top 5. It's a few days before the release of 'Uncharted 4' and Sony's 'Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection' re-enters the chart at No22 (+125%) thanks to some retail promotion.

Forgot to post the full UK charts. Poor opening from Battleborn but that was expected.

Happy that Uncharted has climbed above The Division on amazon US, we'll have to see if that's an accurate portrayal of the market or not.

On amazon uk its still behind both Division SKUs but I'm expecting it to overtake them soon.

QuoteWell considering Halo 4 sold 9.7 million, and Uncharted 3 sold 6.8 million, that is a gap of 3 million.

Now let's say Halo 5 sells 20% less than halo 4 lifetime, Halo 5 would still sell 7.1 million copies. Now Uncharted 3 sold 6.8 million on PS3 with a install base of 85 million.

Considering the PS4 is at 50% where the PS3 is Uncharted 4 can only hope to reach the 6 million units but not 7 million. Therefore I see Halo 5 selling at least 1 million copies more than uncharted 4.

Halo hasn't lost any fans and I think PlayStation fans are getting ahead of themselves thinking uncharted 4 could even outsell a HALO game.

The only Halo game that Uncharted 4 could probably outsell is halo wars 2.
