You're comparing this to the PS3, a console that started off worse than the Dreamcast in Japan. A console that is Sony's worst selling home console with half the sales of the PS1 and a console that started off exceptionally slowly.

When you look at the last 4 generations of home console gaming in Japan, the PS4 and Wii U gen is by far the worst and shows just how irrelevant console gaming is today in Japan. Home Console software sales only account for 40% of total software sales (Portable = 60%) and lets not even mention the impact that mobile has had.

Whilst Home Consoles still have a dedicated core group of gamers in Japan buying games, the numbers are not what I would call "good" at all.

Anyway, that's just my mini rant. I fully understand the point you were trying to get across regarding PS4. I just wanted to provide more context (and doom and gloom lol)
As long as the PS4 doesn't ultimately sell a lot less than PS3 did and it continues to track higher in the rest of the world by comparison, I'm not concerned about the state of console gaming for the time being.

Ubisoft's The Division Player-Base Shrinks by 81% Since Launch

That's a pretty massive drop, though this number only applies to the PC userbase. If it's the same for the PS4 and XB1, then that's really surprising considering it sold extremely well.

It's a good game and you'll get your money's worth.  But destiny has burnt a lot of people out.  I know a lot of people who traded this in after they platinumed it.  got very good trade in value too which shows a lot of people are still buying it.

Division has the same flaws that Destiny had at launch.

The exception was Destiny had VoG and end-gaming content to hold gamers playing for months until first expansion.

Division end-gaming content is close to none with genetic drops.

That is why the community didn't hold like Destiny.

PS. Destiny has a perfect gunplay while Division has a generic TPS gunplay... that helps to hold the community too.

Still no P5 on Comg, how booring, if it doesn't appear in the next couple days then it won't for quite some time I reckon. I guess 4 months are still too much time for the game to really start picking up pre-orders.

Just wanted to point out that right now, on Amazon US hourlies, there are 3 PS4 SKUs ahead of the highest XB1 SKU.

Also, for the month of April, the XB1 QB bundle was the highest selling XB1 SKU.... ranked 97th. Standalone PS4 SKU is ranked 90th. PS4 BO3 bundle at 17th.

At least XBO is back in the top 100.

It's been back for awhile now. Just keeps fluctuating a lot.

It's because Massive has been completely clueless since the game launched. They had loads of bugs and exploits, and their balance answers for those exploits made the end game a complete bore for anyone who didn't partake in said exploits. At least when my friends moved on from garbage Destiny, I could still roam around and do stuff solo. In Division, once you beat the campaign, it's over for PVE. The massive, incredibly detailed PVE map is worthless. You move into the Dark Zone for the end game, where you're instakilled by the people who exploited the game earlier. That, and repeat the same handful of missions on hard and challenge mode for Phoenix Credits.

It's a shame, the foundation for something great is there. But they clearly rushed it out with little to no bug testing and the exploits really f'd them up.

SFV has shipped 1.4 million units. So it missed Capcoms target, but I'd say it's still a lot better than people expected.

2 million

R&C drops 51% in the UK in week 3, still the best selling individual SKU of the week, but drops to 3rd below Battleborn and Cod in the combined chart.
