doom multiplayer seems so fun. Doom in general seems pretty great actually, seems to be flying under the radar though, not much hype for it.
I played in the Alpha. Was so much fun. Very fast paced and nothing about it felt cheap. If you died, you never felt like you were screwed. You accepted it. Like, the very fact you lived any good length of time felt more like you just kept getting lucky dice rolls and everyone else was rolling the same dice. Plus, few things were as satisfying as watching someone instantly explode from a railgun shot. I really wish I could have saved some videos for you guys but sharing wasn't allowed under the NDA.

did you play on PC or PS4?

im not a doom fan, havent really ever played a doom, or an ID game for that matter. but this one just seems hell of a lot of fun, and the multiplayer seems crazy, and i love that you dont die from just 2 bullets, it seems as far away from a CoD clone as possible at this point.

the single player seems pretty old school, which is something i really like as well.

Played it on PS4. It looked really good and the framerate was solid. Pretty sure it was 60fps. I was impressed.

Yeah, the multiplayer in this is really fun. It honestly has that old school feel just like its single player. It feels like you're playing a game. Not a competition. Not a simulation. Just playing a game, which is very refreshing. Getting kills is so satisfying. Watching someone explode into chunks never gets old and neither do the melee kill animations.

Another thing is that you know that someone who sniped you pulled it off because they're good. Not because they're cheap and used aiming glitches or kept themselves out of danger and took shots at you from forever away. These guys have to react in mere moments to people coming around a corner while they're usually wide open to be shot themselves.

Doom's multiplayer is really a back-to-basics approach.

Doom MP seems pretty similar to goldies like UT and Quake

im starting to realize that i like the back to basics approach more. dont get me wrong, i can enjoy a game having lots of perks and such, but i feel it takes away from the skill factor. the "basic" rocket league approach is fantastic, because its purely about skill. my favorite online shooter was KZ2, and it didnt rely heavily on perks and such, it was all about skill.

my feeling is, give us some perks and such, but dont over complicate it, make the gameplay the main factor in winning or losing, not what perks i have and what score streaks or what ever.

and doom seems super interesting, im watching a lot of multiplayer gameplay, and i was impressed by the single player gameplay back during E3 last year. so it seems i just might end up picking this one up. would be my first doom game

i dont get all the doom hate thats being going around. people are pissed because it has load outs, taunts and a progression system... seriously?

i been playing non stop, this is by far the best multiplayer i played in years, i will get this game for sure. its a shame this is coming out 3 days after Uncharted, because while i really liked Uncharted's multiplayer from the Beta, Doom just baby slaps it. and the beta is seriously making me consider buying it over Uncharted.

Honestly, that might be a good idea.

U4's campaign will be the exact same at launch or in a year, while multiplayer is always evolving/dying.

I played some more last night with friends. So much fun. I rarely put that kind of time into a game in one sitting anymore. Progression systems are necessary for FPS games to survive these days. It gives you something to work towards beyond simply winning the match. As far as taunts go, people need to get over it. This offense culture battleship is out of control. Whining about their feelings being hurt because someone they don't know splattered them in a video game and made their digital avatar dance to it. Either get better and do it right back to them or laugh about it. Getting butthurt doesn't change anything. Besides, if you're that sensitive to something like that, just put yourself in a padded room. Life is a lot more harsh than that.

I see no problem at all with loadouts. Especially since you can have custom loadouts pretty early on. You go into the match with two guns and a piece of equipment. Don't like how that's working out for you? Switch your dang loadout the next time you die. These matches only last 10 minutes. Chances are, you're going to die numerous times. If you aren't, then why the hell are you complaining? It sounds like these people wanted just basic weapons for everyone to start and then you pick up the other weapons during the match. Like Halo or some shame. Sorry, but there are already loads of people camping the spawn points for demon runes, power ups, and power weapons. Would be super fudgy annoying if you never got to have a vortex rifle, lightning gun, or rocket launcher because some other jackhole always grabbed it when it spawned.

i swear if there were no load outs, progression and taunts, people would have been barking that "doom needs to get in with the times" and have the "industry standards" that other shooters have. i dont get the problem with taunts... people are complaining they are "distracting"... seriously? i only seen taunts just two times during games, and i played roughly 7 hours of the beta, maybe more. and even then, its awesome because they are a still target.

what is annoying is that people arent saying its a bad game, they arent saying it isnt fun, reality is that its a really well made and fun multiplayer, they are barking because its not a flat out arena shooter, and has some current standards like loud outs.
