What are your estimates for UC4?

Less than 700k for sure, probably around 550K.

QuoteI'm basing my perdition on Amazon, Uncharted 4 isn't doing that hot in Amazon.

It's pretty obvious that was some battleship PR excuse.

Where UC4 is 18th in games for the year already

*facepalm*

I'll be shocked and disappointed if U4 doesn't manage over a million in may NPD. It has most of the month and lots of hype.

A million is guaranteed imo, depending on the games reception and Sonys marketing efforts (which I reckon will be huge for a Sony first party title) I could even see it go over 1.5 million first month. I mean TLOU did 985k in June 2013, how in the world is UC4 not going to beat that?

Agreed. If TLOU, a new IP, can almost manage one million then Uncharted 4 has to. Especially since its the fourth in the series of which a collection has just been pushed like hell.

You should know that Chobel has a bad record with predictions, hence his tag :P

I'm going to be cautiously optimistic because May is traditionally a slow month. I'll say standalone SKU will be <1 million, >1 million when you combine with the LE bundle for an optimistic prediction. My pessimistic prediction will be 700K from standalone SKU, 200K from LE bundle.

Quote from: Rorono on Mar 13, 2016, 05:44 PMAlso don't think it shows people craving new IP. You can easily make a different list that would show the opposite(low-mid sellIng new ips vs millions selling sequels) . Only thing it shows is rich publishers Investing a lot of money on shoving games down people's throats with crazy marketing budgets for their new investments, the point of which is to create another wave of endless million selling sequels
I have no problems with sequels that are not annualised. Sequels are important for fulfilling a games vision, and enabling developers to learn from the problems in the first game. I do agree seeing the next COD or Fifa is not exciting at all. IMO R* are the best at handling sequels, they space their games out so by the time the next game comes out we are all craving a similar experience which has been improved upon.

This reminds me how I predicted that the PS4 would outsell the Wii U and 3DS combined back in late 2013, man I'm so smart. :P

Yeah May is usually the slowest month but that shouldn't affect Uncharted's sales too much. Those who want to buy it will still buy it. The (hopefully) amazing reviews and word of mouth will spread and it has 20 tracking days. I think 1 million should be the pessimistic minimum.

Agreed Rockstar know how to do the best sequels and now they're reaping the rewards from GTA V. If they released GTA VI the next year they won't have gained any sales, since it will have killed V off and V is still selling extremely well now. Imo if companies released their big games every two years it would benefit them much more in the long run.
