Turned out the better version is PS4... the drops on Xbox One are even worst.

People yesterday saying they are switching preorder from PS4 to Xbox One are fabulous.
Not like there's any reason to celebrate the performance on either of these platforms.

This thread is gold... gold.

The Frame Rate of Fallout 4 in Interiors is horrible (PS4) - NeoGAF

QuoteSo I got Fallout 4 yesterday and played like 5-6 hours of it already. Game has massive problems holding the 30fps when inside buildings, cages or whatever you have a load time when you get in. Here is a short video I recorded. (No Spoilers)

https://vid.me/5xBk This get's way worse when people shoot at you or throw molotow cocktails.  I am no technical expert, but I think this game might be locking itself like The Witcher 3 did. Firefights in buildings feel exactly like fights in The Witcher 3 in the swamp when it's raining. In the open world the game has hiccups too, but not as bad as in buildings. This just isn't fun, when you can't even aim properly because of the frame rate :( Edit:  Sorry, Day One, or Patch 1.01 is installed. Edit2:I want to add, that in firefights in buildings it affected my aiming and character movement. You may not see it perfectly fine in this video, which has also no firefight in it, but I could definitely feel it. Also, the part where I want to go through the hole in the wall, I couldn't move my character properly.

here's a video, i've recorder earlier today. i just uploaded it, so youtube is still converting it, i think. the framerate war fine until i used the scope, then it dropped significantly, making it hard to get a good shot.https://youtu.be/aPAH3bFx3VE

Edit3: new link of the scope video https://vid.me/JLcx Edit4:

I did a walkthrough in the same building without any fights. You can see the fps go low when I am turning left or right, and sometimes when sprinting. FPS get's really bad at the end.https://vid.me/5k1k

I don't know what people expected
I dunno about Skyrim cause I only played it on Pc, but played oblivion on 360 and later PC, the 360 version sucked
The only surprise here is that it seems the PC version sucks more than usual, which has been a trend this gen so it's only half surprising.

Wow that performance is horrible.

Bethesda really really needs a new engine.

And maybe some new programmers to make it.

Job opportunities!

It's less about what people expected and more about what people are willing to accept in a Bethesda title.

Just look at the first 2 and a half minutes of this:

This game has a dang 90 on metacritic.

Agreed. At first, I thought Fallout 4 would have less performance issues compared to Bethesda's previous games thanks to the PS4 and XBO using x86. I guess the problems were beyond the architecture....

Even Sterling gave it an 9.5. So much whining about things but standards disappear here

Ludicrous Speed

The thing about the bugs and performance in Bethesda titles is for the most part, much like the games themselves, those issues occur differently for everyone. People love to crud on Skyrim for supposed horrid performance and lots of game breaking bugs. I platinum'd that game on PS3 with no glitches, only a couple lock ups, and loved the heck out of every minute of it. I beat New Vegas three or four times on 360 and again on PC and never encountered any bad bugs or game breaking glitches. I have played Fallout 4 tons on Xbox One and haven't noticed any issues. Apparently the stuff DF is singling out happens in a city I haven't visited yet. So when you say "LOL Sterling gave it a 9.5 LOL" just remember he might have played through the game and experienced no issues at all. The next person might play it and glitch through the ground then quit out and restart the game and have it crash and freeze on him right before he was going to save.

For the most part people are willing to deal with what they are willing to deal with when it comes to Bethesda titles because they are worth it. The first two missions in Halo 5 blew me away but that game might as well not even exist now that Fallout 4 is out. And I'll take a glitchy, sometimes there might be 0 FPS in one section of the game Fallout 4 over 99% of the rest of the crud out there.

Also, Metascore is too low.

The issue that I have with this sentiment is that issues are not universal.

1 million people buy the same game and maybe 30% have serious issues with it, and maybe 10% have minor issues, and maybe 5% has very minor issues, where there are issues but they are so minor it's not worth affecting the score at all.

To me, it's like this weird sentiment like
"I heard a lot of people complaining about their new JF123 vehicle breaking down, why aren't you complaining about it not working?"
"Because it works perfectly for me?"

I've played several games, with no issues or very little issues that people would swear up and down were broken by all standards.

Skyrim supposedly didn't work on PS3 in any way, shape or form.  I literally put 100s of hours into the PS3 version.  I did have some issues here and there, but no where near what everyone claimed.

Then there's those people complaining about The Last of Us AI, I've finished the game 4 times, and I've never run into these problems.

Issues with something aren't universal and sometimes people just have bad luck.  The whole premise of "well, this game wasn't playable for me, why did you rate this so high?" just seems silly.
Like I thought it was my review, I didn't realize I was suppose to be reviewing someone else's experiences, my experience was amazing.  But sure, you had a rough experience, I'll give a 2/10 despite loving every second of it.

DerNebel

Maybe reviewers get special codes/versions of the game that have fewer bugs and issues... dang that tinfoil hat is tight.

PS. I'm sure now Gies just read something in GAF and make his comments pro-Xbox One to try to generate buzz there... btw he is permabanned there.
