Not long now.  

Tomorrow we find out if home consoles gaming is saved in Japan.  If Sony get this added to their ever growing list of Japanese megatons they will be in territory where they can reasonably bid for monster hunter.  

I believe an online monster hunter game for ps4 is being developed so at the very least they should be trying to get a major spin off.  that would literally save consoles for 10 more years.  

Love the countdown in the thread title.  Very nice feature whoever developed that.

I think you are seriously overestimating everything here. A major Monster Hunter Spin-off wouldn't save console gaming for 10 years. So long as there are still monster hunter games being released where the audience is, people won't be flocking to buy a new system for it.

I checked out the footage on both the PS4 and 3DS versions. I'm definitely going to get the PS4 version. I cannot turn down not just the better resolution, but the better lighting, shading, and textures. It comes off more as a complete package while the 3DS looks kinda chibi.

Also, PS4 is getting DQX and the gameplay footage of DQ Builders looked cool.

You miss understood what I meant.  The entire ps4 line up would save consoles. If they got monster hunter 5 as a multiplat similar to dq11 and a few spin offs like dq heroes and builders except for MH then what is there left for ps4 to get?  

Yokai watch spinoff?  Sony are making no mistakes this time around like they did with the PS4.

DQ XI coming out on Nx and 3ds shows they still have a good relationship with Nintendo. It's hard to say how much of an impact this will have on ps4 now. 3ds has a huge userbase so most who want it won't have to buy a ps4, it depends if they want the superior version. That being said, we dint know much about Nx yet so that could be the superior version, in which case ps4 doesn't have much going for it. That is unlikely though

If it's the same situation as that, it would come to the NX at a later date then the initial launch.
