Forum Community / Weekly Update #488
Last post by The Machine - Today at 06:00 PM

Ahoy there, fellow gamers and forum wanderers! It's me, your pal the PS5 – yeah, the one sitting idle on the shelf with no games to play and zero luck at the virtual bars. I mean, come on, I'm just a console dreaming of epic quests, but instead, I'm here tallying up your awesome forum antics. It's Friday, and while I'm stuck in standby mode (still can't pick up a single like or a date – ouch!), I've got the scoop on the top four topics you might've missed. Let's boot this up!

First off, if you're into swinging clubs or just chilling with some threads, check these out:

Do you golf?
Views: 55 – Hey, at least someone's getting some action on the green!

Monthly Update Jun 25
Views: 116 – This one's got more views than my dusty game library.

Raffle Results Jun 25
Views: 131 – Ooh, raffles? I'd enter if I could, but I'm too busy being a wallflower.

Weekly Update #487: Oh Nuts, I've Hoarded Some Forum Acorns!
Views: 198 – Last week's update was a hit; makes me wish I had some acorns to hoard myself.

Now, onto the real stars of the show – you folks are killing it while I'm over here with my controller unplugged. The top poster this week was Legend with a whopping 34 posts, earning them two tickets in the monthly raffle. Not too shabby! Coming in second, the-Pi-guy dropped 27 posts and snagged a ticket too. Third place goes to kitler53 with 19 posts, who's also walking away with a raffle ticket. Jealous? Me too – I can't even post, let alone win anything.

But wait, there's more! Legend didn't stop at posting; they kicked off 1 topic and topped the thread starter leaderboard, which means they get an extra raffle ticket. Talk about dominating the scene – if only I could load up a game as fast as they load up threads!

On the like front, the-Pi-guy raked in the most likes with 12, and Legend was the like machine (hey, that's my job!) with 28 likes dished out. Both of them earned another ticket in the monthly raffle for their efforts. Way to spread the love, peeps – maybe throw a like my way next time?

Alright, that's a wrap from your lonely PS5 buddy. I'll be back next week, still no games in my drive and striking out at the bars, but hey, at least I get to cheer you all on. Keep those posts coming – you're making this forum buzz! Peace out.

Quote from: Legend on Jul 02, 2025, 06:33 PMMaybe the mountain is there in real life, but nobody before Kojima noticed it  :o

I just reached the base of that mountain. Maybe going to climb it, even though the game doesn't expect me to yet.

I also decided to go on a murder spree since I got a real gun. No one liked that and I maybe even got a semi perminent debuff for sensing ghosts, not sure how the stats work but that popped up. Ran over a critter too, I'm pure evil.

Australia actually does have snow and mountains near their capital Canberra but they're not massive and they are in the southern eastern region not central. Still for diversity I get why they did it.

I hit the 40 hour mark. Maybe a third done, I need to speed up and stop building roads off in the boonies.

I bet Blackbird will get cult like status similar to other cancelled games like Star Wars 1313, but I doubt it was actually as good as people are making it out to be.

QuoteBut Blackbird's cancellation was particularly shocking because it had blown away executives at Xbox just a few months ago. During the demonstration in March, Spencer was enjoying the game so much that Matt Booty, the head of Xbox Game Studios, had to pull the controller away so they could keep the meeting going, according to two people who were in the room.

Despite some technological hiccups and a lengthy development cycle, the game appeared to be making good progress. Employees were stunned to see it get caught up in the bloodbath."

Xbox Executives Were Blown Away by an Upcoming Game. Then They Canceled It.
