Spoiler for Hidden:
I guess I'd point out Sony is investing in the mobile industry, and expanding their cloud gaming.

I'm not going to watch it but I agree.

the form factor was amazing and it was compatible with a big amount of my PS3 digital library.

I don't expect GoW Ragnarok to run on a vita 2 but with how scalable engines are these days I would think 3/4 of the PS4/5 library could work.

I'd buy one just for that. games like silksong would feel better in a handheld then home console.

sell the hardware at a profit and just make it a way to keep me invested in the broader playstation ecosystem. it doesn't need to sell 100 million units to be worth while.

also make it compatible with emulators. they don't need to ship with it,.. just let me run snes roms if I know how.

to add...

...this also pairs well with that other discussion we had about sony needing a few indie level studios. a vita 2 doesn't need "huge" games it needs metrodvanias and platformers. titles like pixal junk shooter or fat princess adventures or echochrome or pixal junk eden. these games would be just as playable on ps5 but "feel right" on mobile.

this is actually part of what has me soo down on switch. i get it,.. it's successful. but it's a unfocused PoS imo. as a home console the games are massively compromised especially at the price of the hardware. ..but its not even a good mobile device. it's too big and worse yet the games library isn't all that great for mobile play. it's a bunch of console games and absolutely no mobile games.

i'm want to buy my son a portable gaming device for our vacation to california this summer and there are no good options. i'm seriously thinking of something like a retroid pocket may be the best option available to me and it's not a great option.
