Can we just come to terms with our small community?

okay, maybe this isn't the most important thing in the world to complain about but...

- there are only like 10 of us that post here.
- we generally create less than 5 threads a day
- we generally have less than 10 threads a day that get any new posts

basically why do we have so many sub forums?   do we really need a separate view for gaming news, gaming community, off-topic news, off-topic community?

if i don't come here for a day or two and look at all topics as a whole it never manages to reach page 2.

i mostly complain about this because (on mobile especially) going from a thread to a board is multiple clicks and it really doesn't need to be.

let's just come to terms with our small community and just have 1 forum without any sub forums so that we don't need to have soo many wasted clicked.

I really think we should merge news/community.

You use the boards and not just the main page?

You could just press home and see all of the new posts regardless of board?

i don't know how to screen cap this so i'll just describe it.

On PC once i get to the last post in the thread I have on my screen 2 ways to navigate back to the topics
1. the bread crumbs
e.g. on this thread it is "VizionEck \\ Off-Topic \\ Off-topic Community \\ Can we just come to terms with our small community?"
2. the "jump to" drop down

On PC I click the "vizioneck" option on the bread crumbs for a 1-click way to return to topics.

On Mobile
1. there are no bread crumbs
2. so i have to use the "jump to" drop down.   Also the menu options in this drop down seem to load in 2 separate actions.  Sometimes I try to click "vizioneck forum" but at the last millisecond the options move on-screen and i end up in a sub forum i didn't want to go to.

In both senarios the "home" is at the top of the thread and it's a lot of scrolling to get to the top of the thread especially on mobile where swipe to scroll can be annoying for threads with large post counts.

You can also click the go up button on the bottom right. Personally I just scroll up though on mobile.

I agree with your premise though. The subforums are a legacy feature that don't really matter.

it's still 2 clicks and i'd prefer a 1-click path.

I normally just click the home button to get to the front.  Most active threads are at the front.

Well You can still hit back up on phone without refreshing. It just wouldn't give you an updated home page. But if you are quickly checking the threads, that should suffice and save you that extra step and extra second to refresh the page. I do that all the time and after checking all threads I wish to check out, I give the home page a refresh before leaving to check for new threads and new comments.
