I love Craig. So far with mojang and NFL deal alone ms has nearly spent 3b dollars. Worse losses thanps3.

When all is said and done, I wonder how profitable the XBOX ONE era will be when stacked up against OG and 360.

what money can they really make off of these deals? What does the NFL deal really gain them? or minecraft? surely ps4/xone buys will be high, but surely not nearly as high as last gen sales...

I would like to hear their conversation next year about this deal. Are Ms so far from reality that they don't know how much 2.5b is? Only thing I can see helping recoup the cost is a movie if released next winter... But even if it does frozen and lego movie numbers (which I doubt) it still wouldn't be enough
Hilarious

If it isn't about the money and he realizes it goes against what he's said in the past then there were better ways to go about it. Like, just leave mojang and let the people he put in place to manage it manage it. Or, sell it for a ridiculous yet lot lower price to a bigger(than mojang) and more creative company. But fudge, props to him for this deal.
Even more hilarious considering he lost his sanity and became depressed as hell

Ludicrous Speed

When he said they expect to break even on the deal during that timeline, he said on a GAAP basis. Which means he thinks they'll make at least the same amount of money off Minecraft during that time as they would have if they'd left their 2.5 billion in the bank and let it collect interest. No, he didn't say they expect to make 2.5 billion off it in that timeline. That is crazy money, if it were generating that type of profit then it wouldn't have been sold for such a low price.

I don't expect Minecraft to break these 2.5b in less than 5 years.

That counting a new big Minecraft release.
