I don't suggest Samsung. I've had no luck with their products.
You must be quite unlucky.

I have a Samsumg 51" D8000... except for the bad display input (fixed by choosing HDMI1 with PC mode) it is a amazing HDTV... recommend.

Looks good, but I'm gonna need to borrow some money.

Both my Samsungs broke, 4G hot spot burned up, phone had constant sim card issues. I'm done with Samsung.

Samsung hasn't really kept up with quality.  My parents were looking for a cheap T.V. for the living room and for the size/price range the t.v.s to buy were either a Toshiba LED or a Samsung LED.  Both were 40 inches.  Both were garbage.  My 32inch Sharp made 5 years prior has better image quality.  We went with the Toshiba, but like I said, garbage.  Colours were bleeding on both of them, and the overall image quality is terrible.  Like they bought cheap just to have something in the room to replace the other T.V. so it didn't really matter.  My opinion is to go with Sony.  Plasmas only come in 720p at that size (Anything higher costs way too much).  So Panasonic is more or less out of the equation until they ramp up production on LEDs (If they have Panasonic would be good).  Sharp makes solid T.V.s and I also recommend if you can find a good price.  Sony always have good quality images (Hell, my 65inch Sony somehow managed to colour correct my Dragon Ball Z Dragon Boxes at default settings).  Plus I noticed Sony T.V.s tend to have good deals at like Best Buy/Futureshops(Canada only).

Any thoughts on Vizio?
I'd love to go with Sony, but I'm not certain that I want to spend that much.  Maybe.

Google Cardboard seems cool.

Vizio's good in the monitor space. Can't comment on their T.V. S

The Vizio TV I want is set up at my Walmart.  It looks good.

There was a 55" Sanyo that looked awful.  Either some picture settings were not set up right or the TV has problems.
For example there was a commercial where there was an orange screen.   All the other TVs were showing a good orange color, this one would show a puke green color.

That was tint issues.
