Pastry is the name given to various kinds of baked products made from ingredients such as flour, sugar, milk, butter, shortening, baking powder, and eggs. Small tarts and other sweet baked products are called "pastries."

Hahaha no.

Like pots and pans. (Am I explaining the obvious or do you have a different word over there?)

You're explaining the obvious! Why are meat pies called pot pies if they're shaped like other pies?

Because the innards of the pies are cooked in pots, and then placed in the pies.

Has nothing to do with shape, just contents.

Xevross

I see! So the innards of normal pies aren't cooked in pots then

They're just straight up cooked in the oven with the rest of the pie.

So wouldn't cakes fit in the same description given by Mr Xevross above?

Dr. Pezus

I've always wanted to try those pies you see in kid cartoons all the time. Look so delicious. I don't think many here eat pies often
