I think this is the lowest year I've had for xbox too. Last year I was 195 hours.

Up to 68 hours. 

(I don't even know what I played, but the MS number changed)

not sure when it happened but apparently the target I shop at got rid of all physical presence of Xbox.  

no hardware.  no accessories.  no discs. 

just gift cards for digital download of about a dozen games.  CoD.  Minecraft.  forza.  sports games.  + live and game pass. 


I won't post in the other thread but the space for disc based games was cut in half for PlayStation as well.

apparently there's a rumor that "xbox prime" is coming in 2026.   i can't imagine trying to end this generation early will work out for MS.   with how slow games are to develop i am motivated less than ever to upgrade my hardware.

not sure why it exists.  just trying to capitalize on the die hard fans I suppose.  at least it's not priced 5x over a standard toaster like alarmo is...

A new gen will do nothing now for Xbox. Prices of consoles ade too high as is. And even the PS5 pro didn't make much hype. There simply isn't even of a technical upgrade necessary to release a new console. 

Just decrease the price of the XSX and XSS.

lol sure microsoft. Claiming that ai generated games will allow old games to be ported to new systems. That is probably the dumbest statement I have ever seen in one of these research projects.

100% ai generated games are decades away from being able to perfectly replicate old games. It's just not possible anytime soon. Think of these more like a "dream" of playing the game where it feels mostly right but details don't match up.

And even once we do have strong enough computers to do this decades from now, it won't be worth it. Just have the ai learn to port the actual code. So much simpler and the results are so much better. Only reason to ever have an ai generate old games like in Microsoft's quote is if we have some super mega AI in the far future that just knows these games as a side effect of being a super mega AI that can do everything.
