yes it was good and yes it is beautiful but it still is just a remaster.  it improves the launch line-up but not by that much.
As someone who hasn't played the original, but played bloodborne. I am extremely excited for this. I actually love the style of it. So people who got into the souls series or souls genre this gen can look forward to it.

While I agree its not a big deal as a brand new AAA game. Its still not merely a remaster. Its a full in remake.

I never finished it and it was much more niche back then. Lots of people never played it

It's playing great for the core, but it's a remake closer to Sotc than FF7 imo. Demon's Souls 2 would be way more exciting (even if it ended up being meh).

Maybe it will be a trial run for DS 2.

take it for what you will but in the "souls" franchise bloodborne appears to be the top seller at ~2 million.  each of the dark souls was close to 1 million.

i appoligize for the "remaster" statement.  that wasn't intended to be a criticism,.. i just used the wrong word.

Admittingly that's over multiple platforms.

But that's still an average of 9 million units per game.  Hardly a small title.

I'm too lazy to look for the source but Dark Souls 3 sold 10 million units.

And that's without Bloodborne, demons souls and sekiro

Yeah Dark Souls trilogy sold 27 million, Sekiro was just confirmed to have sold 5M in just over a year. Souls/ From games are huge now.

I dunno guys.  the console versions aren't even close. if those numbers are accurate then like 80% of the sales are from PC.  not so sure that will translate to big numbers on ps5.

So this is the perfect game for trying to convince some of the PC hardcore to hop onto a next gen console. Anyway I think you underestimate the console sales, they've definitely grown.

do you see any numbers for bloodborne that exceed 2 million shipped?  that number is old but its the latest info I can find.

I think that number is an appropriate ceileing for demon' souls as it was also playstation exclusive.  but unlike demon's souls, bloodborne was a new game in what most consider from software best game ever.

No but we have player count from gamestat: Bloodborne - number of players (PlayStation) - gamstat it was at 6.5 million players before it went on PS+ in march 2018. Safe to say sales should be easily over 5 million for Bloodborne, probably way more.

The player count estimate for Demon's Souls is 3 million Demon's Souls - number of players (PlayStation) - gamstat

Dark Souls games are at 4m (PS3&4), 4m (PS3&4) and 6.2m (PS4 only).

Edit: 2 million was in less than 6 months early in PS4 life with no holiday sales yet. So yeah, a ridiculous under estimate. Its a shame we don't get updates from Sony, but I'd put it at 6-7M right now tbh.
