The US is monitoring intelligence that suggests North Korea's leader, Kim Jong Un, is in grave danger after undergoing a previous surgery, according to a US official with direct knowledge.

A second source familiar with the intelligence told CNN that the US has been closely monitoring reports on Kim's health.

Now there are rumors that he has died.  

North Korea insists that he was at the beach.

I think if we haven't heard anything official in 24 hours time he's still alive. Perhaps in some kind of coma or long recovery. Seems like it was all random rumours though and he's actually fine.

I mean nobody would be surprised if he had a heart attack. He most likely did and had a PCI. Now my guess is that his coronary arteries were that clogged up that they recommended open bypass surgery (CABG). Complications following open heart surgeries are much more common and everyone needs ICU for a time after CABG, which might be what's causing the rumors.
