Did Pokemon cost $99 when it first released? How much did you pay for games back then?

I found my mom's original 1998 receipt for Pokemon red and Pokemon blue. Was $99 each.

Another thing I forgot was my PS4 was $499. I bought the Killzone bundle.

Due you remember what you payed for old games n stuff?

Why did it cost that much?  The systems themselves launched at $89. Did you get some kind of Pokemon + GB bundle?

I know I paid $300 for the Last of Us, GTA V PS4 bundle in 2014.

Yeah I find that extremely hard to believe. And no way the KZ bundle was $499. In the UK it was £385 (what I paid) so only £35 more than the system.

There were 2 different Killzone bundles.  A bigger one with a camera, extra controller included was indeed $499 for launch day.

I literally have the receipts haha.

Killzone bundle included some other stuff. Pokemon might have included the gameboys. I'll see if I can find more info.

Even console games were often $60 back then.
The only reference I can find is that Pokemon was being sold for $30.  I'm guessing it either came with a gameboy, or it was bought during a shortage and got price gouged.
