I don't know enough about the french to know how bad that is, but not a good sign for Europe as a whole.

Cool that they are making a next gen box but I worry it'll get killed before launch at the rate things are going.

you can just do the GenOverGen math and see it's down a substantial percent.  the numbers kind of lack a precision that makes that equation terribly meaningful.    

honestly the 54k is probably the most meaningful number here.   with all the data at hand and some context we know from other locations the narrative is and this data only provides further confirmation:
1. series XS sales were pretty good in years 1 and 2
2. series XS sales were down YoY in it's third year on market.  that's meaningful because for most consoles year 3 is often times the sales peak.
3. series XS sales have pretty much fallen off a cliff this year.
