With that it jumped back above GTA5. And it's really close to 98. Maybe a 10 from edge can actually make it a 98

Xbox version fell to 97 as well.

Yes I'm starting to like it a lot more again, would be fun to see it reach 98.

Two more perfect scores added to ps4 version, and a couple low scores to xb1 version (8/10), so PS4 version is higher now.

Xevross

85, 95 and two 100s added to PS4 version, hasn't moved on all time list. Also lots of reviews added to open, reduced the average slightly.

I wonder if a low score from edge would drop it a point now or not. Do we got an idea about their weighting?

I'm pretty sure I worked out that Edge has about 2.5x the average weighting, so an Edge 10 would raise the score by something like 0.11. An Edge 9 would lower the score by 0.2. Its near the very top of 97 though, lets say its at about 97.3. It would need roughly a 3/10 from an average critic to lower it to a 96 at that point, or a 7/10 from Edge. fudge me 2.5x average is a lot of weighting. Meanwhile a single review couldn't make it up to 98, not even Edge. In fact it would need 6 average weighted perfect scores to make it to 98 if its on 97.3.

That's an insane weighting. This whole weighting thing is nonsense IMO.

And it wouldn't need to pass 97.9 to reach an 98 on meta? It rounds up from a .5?

I'm assuming a 97 corresponds to 96.5-97.49. Really wouldn't make any sense otherwise.

Are those reviewers who usually trash Sony exclusives giving rdr2 good scores?

Yes they have.

10/10 from EDGE.

With just EDGE added there is a chance it makes 98, any other perfect scores and it looks quite likely. All it takes is one or two lower scores to kill any chance of 98 though.

Perfect score from Washington Post, who famously gave Uncharted 4 a score of 40.

Decided to research this a bit. Here's a list of critics which have given big Sony exclusives mixed or negative reviews this gen/ been one of the lowest, and their score for Red Dead. Also added other 90+ games in second bracket.

Game Critics - 90 (50 for Uncharted 4, 75 for God of War, 65 for Horizon, 70 for Bloodborne, 65 for Persona 5) (60 for MGSV)
Washington Post - 100 (40 for Uncharted 4, 60 for Nioh)
USGamer - 90 (50 for Horizon)
Quarter to Three - 100 (60 for Horizon)
Stevivor - 100 (70 for Horizon)
XGN - 98 (70 for SOTC:R)
Cheat Code Central - 100 (60 for Nioh)
InsideGamer.nl - 95 (65 for Nioh)
Slant Magazine - 70 (60 for Journey, 70 for Spider-Man) (70 for MH:W)
Game Revolution - 100 (70 for The Witcher 3)
Game Over Online - 100 (70 for MH:W)
Guardian - 100 (60 for Spider-Man)
Metro GameCentral - 90 (70 for Spider-Man)
M3 - 100 (70 for Spider-Man)
Gameblog.fr - 100 (70 for Spider-Man)

Average score from these: 95.5. So yeah Red Dead has dodged pretty much all the problem critics relatively unscathed. In fact if you don't include Slant the average would have been 97.4, in line with its overall average score. There are a couple who haven't posted a RDR2 score yet, like Riot Pixels, so we'll have to wait and see on that front.

Edit: added Spidey scores too.
