QuoteGoogle Translate: Indeed, Articblue , an insider more than reliable and internal editorial, sent us the world exclusive photo of an official goodie bearing the name of the next album. It is therefore Assassin's Creed Odyssey which will be in the spotlight as a "sequel" to the adventures of Bayek.Click to expand...

Kotaku Rumor: Assassin's Creed Odyssey has dialog options, choosable protagonists, out this f.year | ResetEra

QuoteIf you feel this makes more sense in the other thread, feel free to lock this. More at the link. Kotaku's Jason Schreier said:
QuoteRumors about the next Assassin's Creed have been circulating for months now—some real, some fake—but the one we've been hearing since January from our own sources is that the game is indeed set in Greece, and that it'll be even more of a drastic departure for the series than Origins. We've heard the same details from three people who have played the game, and several more who have heard about it secondhand. While Origins added Witcher-like RPG elements, Odyssey will take things even further, those people said, bringing dialogue options to the series for the first time. You'll be able to play as either a male or a female protagonist, although the builds we've heard about did not feature Origins' main characters Bayek or Aya, but new heroes.Click to expand...

BOOO.  I wanted an Aya sequel set in Rome and the surrounding areas.  I want to see Rome built with the graphics of Origins.

But as long as it's as good combat wise as Origins plus added stuff then I'm all good.  Let's also hope they have more modern day stuff with this.  Origins seemed like a test with the new modern day protagonist, so hopefully they go bigger with it.  I'm not getting my hopes up.

Sounds very cool! I was hoping they'd stick with an AC every two years, but w/e I've loved every AC game no matter what so I'm happy :D

Also they said they have one game coming this f. year to announce at e3, so if this is true then Avatar isn't happening at e3.

We've already had Rome though, I love exploring new places in AC games.

I don't really care about the modern day stuff, but its pretty much non- existsent in Origins and probably only a setup for this one, would make sense.

Also I hope it doesn't change too much, it'll stop being the AC I love at some point.

Very hyped for Greece though, no matter what it plays like.

Yeah but Rome with Origins graphics would make up for it being done before.  But greece will probably be amazing though.

I just want a finalized modern day story. They just keep dangling those carrots in each game with no real progress. Finally in origins they seemed to get ready to push it forward again.  Still not that hopeful though given their track record with it.

Yeah honestly I still liked the combat from the games before Origins. But it needed a change though.  It definitely was for the best though.  I'm worried most about dialogue options.  Not every open world game needs them.

I think I'll finally play Origin's after E3.

Well maybe, but one of my favourite parts of AC is exploring fairly accurately made historical cities. I feel like each game is kind of a holiday/ vacation into the past. And I've already been to Rome, Athens is next on the bucket list.

Okay if this is all true I don't think you'll see me ever again. Please, god.

I'm surprised how many people are surprised by this leak. Of course AC would be yearly  ::)

Eh they had a break before Origins and I thought they'd learned for the longevity of the franchise it'd be better to take breaks. But I guess they don't have other big games to full that holiday slot. Or maybe they are confident that it will still be fine with releases every year.

I was always under the impression that it was announced this way. Take a year off to sort things out and then go back into the standard yearly cycle.

That's how I interpreted.

I remember thinking so too but it wasn't certain so there was always the chance they stuck to every two years.

AND it's official!
