Not many games on the horizon.

BY BRIAN ALBERTDespite Kinect's thin showing at Microsoft's Gamescom press conference, Phil Harrison, corporate VP at Microsoft, says we shouldn't be worried about the hardware's future.

"That wasn't, in any way, to make any editorial statement about the future of Kinect," Harrison said. "It's just that these were the games we wanted to highlight in our briefing. The games that we focused on in our briefing were the blockbusters and exclusives for this holiday, 2014."

"We let the developers choose [whether they want to use Kinect]," Harrison explained. "It's one of the tools that they have in their tool belt for taking advantage of the Xbox One, and we hope they continue to do so."

That almost sounds like Microsoft saying they really don't have much coming for it. They've had only two Kinect games since launch, only two more announced since, and yet they have four or five studios that make Kinect games.

Does this mean that MS will be making more 'proper' first party exclusives?

Depends on if they can convince the higher ups to let them spend money to retool and realign some of their studios. They only have five studios that do big budget core titles. That's why they've been slinging money at third parties.

Exactimundo and they do have the potential to have more than 5 so we shall see if they use it. Otherwise they just can't compete with Sony's 14

Shouldn't that say "from Microsoft" otherwise it sounds like "VizionEck is making VizionEck, play it on your VizionEck"

In press releases yeah I think it's with Microsoft instead.
