My local Saturn is so weird, there is absolutely no indicator in that store that the Switch is going to launch tomorrow, no advertisement or anything and it didn't seem like they made any space for hardware, accessories or games either, meanwhile the Gamestop a couple meters away from Saturn has those things. It's super bizarre.

But anyways, Horizon looks to be sold out in both stores, yay!!

Rumor: PS4 dropping price to 199 tomorrow to counter Switch launch in some EU stores - NeoGAF

QuoteSo let's call it a rumour and I think it can have its own thread, but mods please switch it off it if I'm wrong.
So we learned from a very reliable source at retail that Sony is agreeing with some retailers to temporary drop the price of the standard PS4 Slim to 199 euro, be it a one-day sale for just tomorrow or during the weekend, as a counter-measure to Switch launch:https://www.gamereactor.es/noticias/...contra+Switch/
We cannot say which retailer is our source from, but we can confirm this will be applied in several European countries, including but not limited to Italy. Perhaps you can take a look at your local retailer and confirm as well.

What is even the point of this? The Switch is gonna sell what they have tomorrow anyways, if they even have any units aside from what was pre-ordered.

Dengeki retail software YoY

PS4: 1.869.096 (+59%)
3DS: 1.640.642 (+24%)
PSV: 616.213 (-45%)
WIU: 143.371 (-69%)
PS3: 52.756 (-89%)
XB1: 5.551 (-12%)

3DS and PS4 aren't making up for losses, due to that we're down by 5% as a whole.

Last week was the biggest week for PS4 for the year so far, it should stay above the 3DS until Monster Hunter XX is out.

I think the opposite.

Horizon ~ 150k
Switch ~ 130k
Zelda ~ 100k

Horizon could launch at 100k+ in Japan. Is UK likely to be only 50k more?

I have it at high 200k for U.K. but I'm playing conservative.

Zelda will sell about 70% of Switch number in my view (remember it is retail only)... so it will be strong tied to how much Switch sell day one... stocks issues will make Zelda won't reach Horizon numbers.

Xevross

150k would be amazing for horizon. That's almost what uncharted 4 managed  :o

Personally I think Horizon will sell around 120k, with Zelda being about 80% of switch launch sales. I think switch will sell about the same as Horizon

darkknightkryta

Yeah it's pretty hard for Zelda to sell more than the Switch.  So it depends what the supply is for both

Well there is still a Wii U version.

I thought the Wii U version didn't exist and you had to buy a Switch for it  ::)

I think this shows how important Japan is becoming for western titles.  If 150k is considered fantastic for the UK then they must be delighted if games like Horizon can launch around 100k in Japan.

Well games have much better legs in the west as well. Most games in Japan seem to dramatically drop off very quickly
