Honestly impressive how well ps4 is doing there.

Traditionally golden week favors Nintendo more than Sony.  Great to see ps4 benefit the most.  

So many people thought it would drop below 20k by now.  Well next week that ain't happening or the 2 weeks after.  

Not sure about June or July but it won't be going anywhere near the lows people were expecting / hoping.

One Piece fighting game is doing poor but that is not surprise because the PW is way better and fun.

Dark Souls 3 has been holding weirdly well in Japan, I don't really get it but it's great. Speaking of Japan, check this out, I know it's just Amazon.co.jp but looks like we're off to a great start there, I really hope the game shows up on Comg today.

Yeah, Japan and their weird "totally-not-entry-level-bad stuff" games have always been somewhat of a mystery to me.

Launch-aligned, the PS4 remains ahead of the PS3 by ~66K units on Media Create. At this time, the 2008 holiday season for the PS3 is over.

YW didn't appear the day we expected but the one after.  Maybe this will be the same.  

Super seeing the ps4 still ahead even after the PS3 Xmas period 2008. This year will be tough but it's going to be in with a shot at least.  Ps4 is very healthy in Japan.

Eh. Good isn't the right word. Not in my opinion at least.

You're comparing this to the PS3, a console that started off worse than the Dreamcast in Japan. A console that is Sony's worst selling home console with half the sales of the PS1 and a console that started off exceptionally slowly.

When you look at the last 4 generations of home console gaming in Japan, the PS4 and Wii U gen is by far the worst and shows just how irrelevant console gaming is today in Japan. Home Console software sales only account for 40% of total software sales (Portable = 60%) and lets not even mention the impact that mobile has had.

Whilst Home Consoles still have a dedicated core group of gamers in Japan buying games, the numbers are not what I would call "good" at all.

Anyway, that's just my mini rant. I fully understand the point you were trying to get across regarding PS4. I just wanted to provide more context (and doom and gloom lol)
