Not many people are going to be willingly buying a PS4 by itself for $400 when they can get it somewhere else for the same price but with two of the best games in recent memory for free. I wouldn't concern yourself with holiday performance. We know the PS4 is selling. "Falling flat" is far from what's happening with it. It's just getting some stiff competition from competitors currently charging less for their console. You also have to remember that this battle is really only happening in the US and the UK to a lesser extent from what I've heard. Next year starts the barrage of PS4 exclusives and you can probably bet on a price drop. Considering its strength everywhere else in the world it's really not worth worrying over how it stacks up here for one or two months.

I have my fingers crossed for a price drop announcement at PSX. But if they are going to do it they should do a 100 dollar cut for impact. 50 dollar cuts feel pointless and cheap. They should be approaching that point soon and not loose much if any.

Haha no pricecut imo.

Even a $50 one seems super unrealistic. Sure they have to stay competitive with Microsoft, but we're only a year out!

The Wii U has been competitive with the X1 in the past. Plus, Smash Bros just came out and that franchise is always a big deal. A Wii U with Super Mario 3D World (an awesome game) for $300 and then picking up Smash Bros for a total of $360? That may be a more attractive option for people than a $350 X1 with a bad AC game and the better one from last year. The GTA/TLOU bundle is selling out. We've already seen how Amazon can't keep it in stock. So it's only natural that the places that do carry it would see an increase in their own sales of it. If Amazon doesn't have it to purchase online then obviously those looking to buy it online would go to websites like Gamestop.
Which is precisely why the best buy bundle sold out several times. I believe there was also a $250 Smash Bros + NintendoLand at ebay that sold an average of 4 units per second.

Oh, i'm not worried. It's just that it's  a bit of a shame that once again just like last year there are some supply issues. But as it's already been said, that's also a "good" sign in a way.

Also, even without the BF bundles, the charts don't look bad. X1 might be on top but it's the only sku on the whole 100 top, while PS4 has two (400 gameless and white Destiny) of them in the ~30s.
On top of that, if the BF bundles are better stocked at retail, then maybe these charts are worse indicators for the holiday period than they were in the past.

edit: GTAV bundle also OOS on Amazon Uk, back ordered due on 12th December

I mean it's not going to happen this year. Maybe before next holidays, and I believe it will be a $50 cut instead

Looks like the rankings are going back to pre-black friday.

Amazon/sony are being pretty crud with bundles right now.

The only PS4/X1 on amazon UK top 100 is PS4 at #89. GAME just has so much better deals right now which makes it harder to tell how they're doing in the UK
