Okay... on a more positive note, R&C is currently #1 on Amazon. Of course, Amazon is not a reliable indicator of software performance, but it's still very nice to see it doing well on this particular retailer.

In ethomaz defense I do believe aarongreenberg was one of the guys who was like, "when we say sold its actually units sold." I wouldn't know where to look for this because if I'm thinking of the right situation it was skepticism to a pr statement or something.

Either way, that isn't the worst of the guy

Since when is it customary to congratulate random people you've never met for doing their dang jobs mediocrely?

Hockey season just ended, I'd like to say good job finishing the season maple leafs!

Are you referring to this?

Because he always said that when he reports sales that they are shipped numbers. (Unless otherwise specified.

Aaron Greenberg On Shipped Versus Sold - The Bitbag

In that quote above he talks about the competition, which means Sony, giving manufactured shipment numbers. But that is not true and is a mistake on his part. Sony stopped providing production shipment numbers in 2007 and now report consolidated sales (sell in) which is the same as Microsoft report. (Or at least used to report).

That's an example of Greenberg being wrong when talking about the competition and he's done that a lot. like I said In the previous posts, he is one of those PR people that spins everything in a positive light to Microsoft so you really have to read everything he says very closely.

If you're not referring to that situation then its probably the more recent one where Greenberg was asked if the sales.numbers for Rise of the Tomb raider were sold in or sold through and he clarified that it was the latter

First one sounds right, but I recall him being more abrasive. He's probably talked about it more times.

Probably.

Microsoft PR these days can be very misleading. You really have to go through it thoroughly and it shouldn't be that hard.

Even their PR about Quantum Break being the best selling New IP from Microsoft is misleading to most people. It makes it sound like they mean ever but they're only comparing first week sales and to new IP published by Microsoft Studios during 8th Gen only. Plus they were only talking about the UK.

Nintendo are the only ones who seem to remain reasonable when it comes to PR, even when they're not doing well. But they all exagerate sometimes.
