I can't believe WiiU didn't jump back up, is there still supply problems or is this its new (terrible) baseline?

By years end I bet it's a million ahead, if not more. Too many popular franchises in Japan dropping on PS4 this year and support for the Wii U will drop like bricks when Nintendo announces their next console. It's already on life support.

Ps4 would need to have a very good year and WiiU a very bad year (compared to last year) for the gap to be over 1 million at the end of the year. Last year PS4 sold 453k more than WiiU, obviously that'll change a lot this year but for the gap to be 1m+ at the end of the year then PS4 will have needed to sell 1719k more than WiiU. That is a huge number, I think PS4 will struggle to sell that amount alone, never mind that + what WiiU sells this year (which will likely be 500k+).

Imo the gap will be about 500k at the end of the year. Still very impressive.

The Wii U is going to die this year. PS4 sales seem to be holding around 100k per month. That's outside of holidays with many big Japanese releases this year.

Still I think its unlikely. I'm not saying it can't happen but it'd take something really dramatic.

I guess we're yet to see the impact the big hitters will have on PS4. They're not all guaranteed to hit this year anyway.

I'm shocked but Firewatch greatly outsold the witness on steam.

Besides that, Firewatch devs don't even have a wikipedia page, and The Witness does.  

Wonder if the price was a big reason for it.

Persona 5 won't sell overly well there.  Final Fantasy XV will.

Persona 4 Golden did 350k in Japan, the original probably did less.  Persona 5 won't sell well in Japan because, unfortunately, there's no market there for it.
