@darkknightkryta

I just think it is a overestimate scenario... both console PS4 and Xbox One are way cheaper today than it was in late 2013... they increased the production and the materials got cheaper too.

I believe Sony sells the PS4 at $399 with profit already... maybe the can even go to $350 to break even... Xbox One is a bit expensive but without Kinect it is not that much difference... maybe $20-30 more expensive than PS4... both consoles can be sold today at $399 with profit in my view.

These big deals for Xbox One is of course hurting them... maybe $100 per console or a bit more... I don't know $150... they will need a lot of units sold to break 1 billion loss.

I don't expect Xbox One to sell that much.

I, i forgot about selling to retailers. I was thinking to consumers... Yes they should indeed do that in the holidays. But half of it will be stuck on non-american shelves for months to come.

I'm going to make a similar post to what I did in the "Sony Unfazed" thread regarding what we're seeing in the retail channel since the start of the month.

In short... The PS4 has once again overtaken the XB1 in sales on a weekly/daily basis... handily. I haven't had a chance to check if it has totally overcome the initial explosion of price-cut purchases, but it's certainly eating away at that buffer rather quickly.

Not only that, but the response to our BF ad has led to some interesting anecdotes. Getting an extra $20 off the XB1 deal doesn't seem to have elicited much interest beyond those that will already plan to be there, whereas we're getting questions about how early customers can line up for guaranteed placement for the PS4 bundles. I'll clarify that I fully expect both bundle offers to sell out that weekend, but from the disparity in interest/questions, it seems likely the overall velocity of those sales will be quite different.

We've also had a Sony rep in the store confirming some numbers with our management, in case we need to add additional stock for those sales. Sony doesn't seem to be brushing this off. (Interestingly, for those of you that are interested in this sort of thing, the fact that the GTA bundle comes with a physical copy of the game is actually a selling point for some customers.)

I don't really want to call the month one way or the other, but the people assuming that MS had this in the bag may want to reconsider.

This guy always help me to made my prediction NPD post... he always give good insights.

Yeap... PS4 starting to grow in time to be successful in BF.

$399 PS4 + GTAV + TLOUR = Killer bundle.

It is the best deal for the BF... MS have nothing close to that... most because GTAV than TLOUR.

physical > digital

Of course people want a tangible resellable item. Also make you feel better than having a stupid download card and a cheap jacket stuffed into unsold units to move them.

Guys, someone bump the NPD thread

Just saw an Argos advert for PS4 with Far Cry 4 and GTA V for £360, pretty amazing deal, during I'm a celeb (which gets around 10m viewers)

Not just that... it is GTAV... I can't find any game with the seller power of a GTA game even if it is a remaster.

CoD had the power in the past but it don't have anymore.
