No point speculating really, we'll just wait and see if there's more updates
It depends greatly on if the price cut moved the console into the price range of people in countries where disposable income is lower. Then you factor in holiday hype where the PS4 selling a few million globally in November alone was already something that happened last year and expected this year even without a price cut. Add in hype for upcoming games and a bigger lineup and there is the potential for a perfect storm.

You're right, there is a good chance that all this happened and that there has been a perfect storm. But I think even a perfect storm leads to maximum 6 million in October and November and absolutely no more.

But even in that far reaching scenario, if that were the case I think sales would have been higher than 30.2M when they gave us the milestone. Otherwise the explosion would be entirely focused on these two weeks and though BF week is huge..come on.

What did we know about sell through prior to October? Because bringing up that number and comparing it to the 30.2 million announced as of November 22nd might help make things more clear.

We only know it was 20.2m as of 1st March. So that's 10m in almost 9 months.

It had shipped 25.3m at the end of June and 29.3m at the end of September.

This article was published on October 29th and said Michael Denni claimed the install base was now well over 25 million. Let's assume that meant 26 million by the end of October. That means within 3 weeks in November the PS4 sold 4 million. That's prior to Black Friday week.

I don't think that Sony will have shipped 29.3m at the start of October if sell through was only 26m at the end.... well maybe that's true and maybe the PS4 has had a monster October and November. That would mean its had a shame year up to that though.

Just ran some numbers and I can see about 6m max in October and November. For 9m to be true it must have had a monster BF week (2m+) and have sold like shame up to October (only 3-4 million in the 7 months of March-Sept inclusive)

That was said then but it was old info, 25M was several months before
End of October would have been around 28.5M
