Quote from: NotBananaKing on Jun 29, 2015, 07:55 AMwell see thats the problem, depends on the number of Andriod sales and how much royalty they took per device, since it ranges between 5$ and 15$ according to that article. however its most likely less than 2b before 2013 and higher than 2b after it. that is IF that 2b figure is correct.
I will say, there's a reason investors aren't happy with the xbox, and this was before the Xbox One was announced...  But we'll never know.  MS has buried it yet again with more stuff.  But I wouldn't be surprised if 2b is the case, possibly more.

Japanese sales of Souls ain't too shabby.

It is Japan - Oversea... no?
The first column is Japan the second is Oversea so you need to sum them to get the WW numbers.
Said that chertz didn't track steam and ~3m sales for DS come from steam.
Chertz combine DS and DS: AofA too... so it is 5.5m all combined with 2m coming from steam.

From GAF.

SteamSpy lists for each entry:

 Dark Souls 1:
 Owners: 1,942,592 ± 32,697

 Dark Souls 2:
 Owners: 976,458 ± 23,228

Dark Souls 2: Dark Souls Harder:
 Owners: 248,659 ± 11,739
Gotcha ;)

So 3.7 excluding steam for ds1 combined

1.33 for last gen ds2.

.35 for ds2 next gen.

3.72.98
1.331.86
.35.05

So chertz is way way off.

Investors were calling for the xbox to be sold off.

Read some articles. But it can all be hearsay. I don't believe much on the Internet.  It's just there's data buried away that people have scratched the surface on.  Data that would support investors would want the division gone. Balmerisnt isn't t exactly good with money. He's burned through billions on his tirades.   The gaming division is the division that doesn't fit Microsoft's core the most.  It's also buried away under Windows for a reason. It'd be the easiest thing for investor's to get rid of,  if the real losses were shown.

A few short-sighted ones, no doubt. Not all of them.

"Well, we have market leadership in every country in Europe, and have very significant market leadership in continental Europe. Extremely significant. I don't think market share's any less than 70%, and frequently greater than 90% in continental Europe."

He also says that because PS4 is doing so well in Europe it won't be seeing a price cut yet

So ps4 at 70% in UK seems to be how people are reading it.

That seems way too high unless wii u is ignored

Sounds like Wii U is being ignored.
NeoGAF - View Single Post -  (VG247) PlayStation 4 dominates Europe with ’70-90%’ of console market

QuoteHm. Given that the last figures we had for France were something like: 1,000,000+ PS4 500,000 Wii U 400,000 X1 ...unless there's been massive growth for PS4 (it would need to have sold, what... another 1.5 million+ while Wii U/X1 stood still to reach 70% share?) then there may be a little bending of the facts here. It's pretty clear Sony have swept to the lead across Europe though - just not perhaps quite as comprehensively in every territory as Ryan is claiming. EDIT: Actually, if you assume he's only referring to PS4/X1, they could reach 70% share in France with another 500k or so, even if X1 climbed to 500k total. I'd guess that's what's going on with these figures.

My post is about France.
But I think it's likely he's talking about this.

He's not being incredibly clear about what he means, all we can know is that it's impressive.
Some people seem to be taking it like "Well, we have market leadership in every country in Europe, and have very significant market leadership in continental Europe. Extremely significant. I don't think market share's any less than 70% [in (overall) Europe], and frequently greater than 90% in continental Europe."

Actually I think he's talking overall.
Not per country.
Are some countries pretty close to 100%?

Frequently makes it sound like he's talking monthly/weekly sales.

Maybe but nothing like 95%+ I think. Probably 90-95% in some cases
