Well I have no idea what this actually is or what's significant about it.

Game has been teasing the return of aliens for years.

Players this morning have started finding alien bases scattered on random planets. Most of them have been long abandoned, but the base in the OP is still active with aliens present.

Weird floaty alien things.

Then players can actually drive inside the base and if they have certain items, they can make it to the center shown in the op.

Very cool.  Once again I need to get into this game.  I really hope the ps4 version will eventually have PSVR support?  has that been talked about?

They're trying to add it but the framerate isn't solid enough yet.
