Had somewhat of a slow start, but now I'm completely in love with Nier Automata, finished ending A today and am already a decent bit into playthrough B, definitely recommend it, (A performance patch would still be pretty sweet though)
I've lost all motivation to play it. I'm about 4 hours in and every time I've played it I've had to force myself to start and then I get bored/ frustrated really quickly and close it.

I'm going to give it another go but so far, for me, its been a very disappointing game

Nah man, it's awesome. I love 2B and 9S, I love the weirdness of it all, I love the writing, I love seeing the story unfold, I like the combat (it's pretty simple but satisfying), the things I don't like are the performance problems. It's great.

I do like 2B and 9S, and the writing is decent but I think the open world is... well... awful. After playing Horizon it just feels like I've gone back a decade in gaming.

The melee combat is great but I hate having to do melee and ranged at the same time

I've found that they are rarely enemies where you have to do melee and ranged at the same time.

Also considering the budget they had I think the open world is fine, especially after you unlock fast travel it's really not a problem at all.

No but there can be a group of enemies where its required, and you do more damage if you do both. The only enemies I've had fun fighting are the big boss enemies. The small robots and humanoids are just tedious to fight at best

I unlocked fast travel and its still annoying. The side quests are plain and boring, I have no idea what the main quest actually is and I don't like the way the game looks.

Meh, agree to disagree.

Also I like the sidequests, definitely prefer them over Horizons overall, a lot of that games sidequests were bland as all hell.

Except naughtiness doesn't look this hot

They better not be putting the fog lamps on the grill for the mustangs next year.

DerNebel

Finished Nier Automata earlier, I think it's my favourite game of the year (for a week at least :P)

30 hours until Persona 5 reviews come in. Where do you think it'll land? I think I'll be conservative and say 94 on meta.  ;D

90-95 seems likely
