Like this post.  Like WTF do you even want different from other action RPGs? Say something to justify why you think it's "too similar".
Yeah. Not to mention, a lot of games that break with established formulas don't often work or at least don't have enough other good components surrounding the new stuff to make it enjoyable. It takes another game that comes along and tries that new thing another game tried but puts substantial meat on it. More often than not, when someone complains about a game not doing anything new in its genre, that's usually because they can't find any other legitimate complaints. Why are they able to stand there and praise all other open-world action games, RPG elements or not, but suddenly Horizon is the straw that broke their back? Guarantee you, these same people will sing the song of Mass Effect Andromeda a month later.

Ugggh I must get a ps4 pro before Horizon releases

Horizon

I don't get the people who say it looks similar to other RPG's. I have Witcher 3, Boodborne, Dragon Age and Final Fantasy 15. The combat is completely differently from all of them, none of them feature heavily on bow and arrow and none of them feature stealth. The world is a farcry from all of them, a world far far in the world overun with nature reclaiming the land, machines the dominate species yet there is a sci-fi element too. People who say Horizon looks generic or like other RPG's need a slap seriously.

Yeah it's the opposite of generic imo

Agreed!  People can for sure say it may not be what they are looking for, but it needs to be justified.  Most are just "looks like every other action RPG, gonna be bland and boring" without justification.  It's just absurd.

Sounds like the performance will be very polished.

Was a rather popular accusation on VGC back when the generation was first starting. Any good or potentially good news coming from Sony that wasn't immediately shown to be true or couldn't be verified outside of certain sources always ended up with someone claiming Sony lies. Typically, someone from the Xbox thread there who was in denial over how the generation was shaping up.

Didn't VGC's owner also joined in that narrative regarding the PS4's sales?

Yes. Lol

Yeah. At one point he refused to believe the numbers Sony was reporting because, he claimed, the numbers didn't add up. What he really meant was that his guesstimates were off, that PS4 was doing better than he predicted, and he didn't like it. He actually refused to update the numbers based on Sony's announcement for quite awhile and got called out for actively showing bias against Sony. Instead of updating the numbers and reporting on them as they came in based on official sources, he was starting to become selective about what he would accept. Essentially wrecking what little legitimacy his website had left as a videogame sales figures site. VGC was a laughing stock before that. That one moment solidified it being unreliable.
