Are they talking about the hordes of zombies? That demo was great!
We're gonna be surprised!

Yeah I think I saw people talking about that. Mainly people were sharing videos and just saying it looks awesome and they want it

Quote from: DerNebel on Jul 10, 2016, 04:50 PMThat's kinda the feeling I'm getting, that this is something that might appeal more to the more casual crowd, the Cod Dudebros etc., I think for those guys the Zombie craze hasn't gone stale yet at all.
Zombie games are till big. heck, Dying light, with a 74 metacritic, launch issues were the games physical version got delayed in some countries, and no "internet hype" went on to sell 5 million within the span of 7 months.

being open world, and having a horde of zombies like that (which i dont think is in any other game), might end up being huge. the game still needs some work IMO, but its still a full year and a half away from release (at least). i think if the story is good, and the game gets an 80+ metacritic it can be a big hit.

I actually saw a decent amount of internet hype around Dying Light, after launch at least reddit was talking about it quite a bit.

But yeah, I think there might be a disconnect between internet interest and real world interest for Days Gone, this could actually be decently big.

Sony have to market it right though. so far it wasnt the best of reveals, but they should show this more at Paris Game Week, and PSX. they said they have "extreme weather", they should show that off, with a different type of enemy, show more of the open world. show what makes this game different from other zombie games.

Quote from: nnodley on Jul 08, 2016, 02:32 AMI really do need to get this game.  I was waiting to see if they released it on ps4, but I'm not feeling that will happen so I may get it soon.
Same here.  I was hoping they'd port the pc version to ps4 but I hadn't played an AC game in over 2 years since black flag and was feeling the itch for more.

It was dirt cheap on a sale so I said fudge it I'll get it on ps3. And tbh the game looks decent on last gen.  Well worth it.

But Ubisoft I feel iced up.  There's no assassins creed in 2016. A summer port of Rogue would have been perfect this year.

Sony is skipping Gamescom too. Gah now we have to wait longer to see their fall show.

Source? Even though it sounds plausible.

We asked PS France about it and they confirmed there wouldn't be a press conference at Gamescom 2016.

After now having played UC4's MP for a couple days I can honestly say that I still don't understand what Banana's complaint with the DLC was about. I'm not using any of the DLC items but I also don't find myself at some unfair disadvantage against people that do use them. Unlocking them without paying, does take some time but it doesn't seem completely inhumane unless you want everything.

But maybe it's because I'm not playing ranked, I'm staying away from that as a loner because I feel like that mode will be overrun by tryhard teams of 5.

funnily enough i was gonna dig up your reply to explain my point.

first of all, you are at a disadvantage because you dont have many LP (loadout points) points unlocked. which will result in you getting recked a lot of the times.

second of all the issue i had isnt with the multiplayer its self but the DLC and microtransactions

Vanity packs (cosmetics) were 150 relics a pack, which unlocked a random item.  the new DLC packs are 3000. now to put things into perspective. there were only two ways to get relics. either by daily challanges or winning matches. winning a match gets you 10 relics, losing gets you nothing. daily challenges gave you either 250, 320, or 450 relics based on what challenge you got. (which were random).

ND dropped the new pack, which includes gameplay items like Guns, Mysticals and boosters, these are in the Gameplay DLC pack, which each one costs 3000 relics. cosmetic packs cost 2000 and 3000 relics for the regular and premium pack respectively.  they also added new ways to get relics, with an "offline" relics system and leveling up. the offline relics system is basically a bunch of relics being collected for you while you are offline, after getting online and completing a new match you get a small portion of those relics. you keep playing till you get them all. if you stay offline for a day, youd get maybe 20 relics. the most i had in my offline relics was 50. leveling up also gives you relics, sometimes. and they are just 50.

now after all that is out of the way, here is the problem. the "free" updates are technically free, but they are hidden behind a MASSIVE grind wall or an VERY EXPENSIVE microtransaction system. reading online, 6 premium skins cost roughly 20$ worth of real life money. but at the end it cosmetics dont effect gameplay, true. but the gameplay items are locked as well, and the only way to get them it to buy the 3000 chest, or buy them with real money

getting one chest, takes you a full week of grinding, and playing everyday and completing challenges everyday. the first thing you have to note is that the daily challenges arent daily. they are weekly, and Naughty Dog lied through their teeth. every week you get 3 challenges, once completed, only one will refresh within 24 hours of completion, and will do so for the rest of the week. after a week you get the other 2 challenges refreshed. they also lie straight to your face, saying "come back tomorrow for a new challenge" when you complete one, its a flat out lie. they are weekly challenges and they act as if they were daily. its battleship.

what does this mean? at the very best, if you dedicate a lot of your time to it. you can complete a total of 9 challenges per week. for the sake of getting an idea, lets say each challenge gets you 340 relics per average. thats 3060 relics per week. if you dedicate all the time necessary for it. the offline relics, winning and leveling up do next to nothing. thats 1 gameplay chest in one week. you need 7 gameplay chest to unlock all the items. thats 7 weeks of grinding, non stop, to just get the gameplay items.

what about the vanity items. well, they cost 2000 relics and 3000 relics, for more cosmetic items, that used to cost 150 perpack when at launch. it would take months upon months, grinding daily, just to unlock a small portion of these items. ohh.. dont wanna do that? you can always buy, but because its a "free" update, DLC packs cost a shame ton.

but well... there are a lot of items to unlock in the 150 chests that launched with the game. and i will just keep playing till i unlock the DLC items i want, then keep storing my relics up until the next DLC drops, and just get the gameplay items that launch with it with my stored up relics, right? sounds like a good plan... right? No. fudge you it doesnt, because Naughty Dog sneakily included a maximum relic cap. why? because fudge you, thats why.

another thing, ND said that Microtransactions wont effect gameplay, which is a lie. because you can buy one time boosters from the store, which make buying items in game like mystals, side kicks or heavy weapons cheaper. it wont have a big effect, but it does.

basically this "free" update is something nobody will ever enjoy for free. and those who will buy are getting screwed over with the prices. again, naughty dog can go fudge them selfs.

^ Lol, jesus talk about an overreaction.

For one that whole wall of text was completely unnecessary, cause like I said I played the game and I know most of that stuff.

I have seen absolutely no case in which I felt someone had a clear advantage over me because he was using a DLC item, that's what I meant by that. DLC weapons are not stronger than the normal weapons.

Secondly you are really overstating how much of a grind the daily challenges are, I've been doing them for the last few days and it has never taken me more than 4 to maybe once 5 matches to complete one.

And thirdly what made you expect getting the DLC items would be so easy? Of course they want to incentivize people to buy them, but right now I see nothing forcing you to do that since there is no clear advantage in using the DLC weapons/boosters over the normal ones anyway. So there's nothing rushing you to get them but yourself.

Trust me I won't spend a dime on the MP DLC items and I will enjoy enough of them for free anyway.

That there's a relic limit is pretty f'd though.

Ludicrous Speed

Sounds like Last of Us all over again only with a currency system thrown in.

I am worried that EA will have similar crud put into Titanfall 2.

TLOU's DLC weapons were pretty OP though, from what I've heard. I stopped playing that game before they were introduced.

Edit: The thing that is kinda pissing me off about UC4s multiplayer though is that they are apparently taking maps in and out of rotation after all. Cause right now Madagascar is out of rotation.

Still a couple days until the official announcement but Gravity Rush 2 might release December 1st in Japan.
