Comey had the same thing to say about Trump's wiretapping claim that others looking into the matter have said. He has no evidence such a thing took place.

According to Comey, Russia used intermediaries to communicate with WikiLeaks and their intention was to hurt Clinton and help Trump. My own speculation here is that Russia knew Clinton would turn up the heat on them immediately after becoming President. Clinton and Putin don't like each other.
