that post was utter facepalm.

"We noticed our numbers were off, so instead of changing them to the numbers we know are right, we re going to tinker with our formula until it gets within  a few percentage points of being right, and then defend ourself and our numbers, because we know what we are doing. we think"

and wouldnt wiiU sales being terrible in some markets mean that those areas inevitably have atleast 1 console sitting on the shelf per store lol

Hmm I find it funny that back when Sony announced 10M to consumers, ioi basically implied that Sony were lying/making it up and even when it adjusted (days/weeks afterwards) it still was below Sony's numbers.
But MS comes out with a very.. "misleading" PR piece and within 2-3 hours adjustments were made to previous week numbers to reflect the exact figure from MS PR and the same thing for the new weekly numbers.
That, and both PS4 and X1 have millions of units sitting on shelves while Nintendo apparently can't keep up with Wii U demand and sells everything it ships. Ok.

one of the fun things about vgc, is the new users that pop up from time to time, and seem to know nothing about it lol  like this guy trying to say the Xbox One is 1.5million undertracked

I don't know how anyone can argue that. We have official US and UK data, and VGC matches that (at least after adjustments), the XB1 sells poorly everywhere else. While i do believe that it is undertracked, i'd say it's nothing more than ~200k, small amounts spread out through all those other countries

I would say I feel for ioi, but then again...

If he's willing to argue his points then fine, great. But just locking threads and banning people he disagrees with not only makes us look bad but the site look bad also. Hopefully he'll be more active and with NPD not being leaked anymore it's pretty much all we have.

ioi subscribes to NPD, right? In that case, at least we should see some adjustments after NPD
