But not admitting that the problems could be within yourself is a big mistake. The lack of introspection that many of the left still demonstrates will bite them in the dog if they don't shape up.

For instance, your closing sentence is a strawman fallacy. The notion that Trump winning the election means racism doesn't exist was not argued. The point that was made was that people are tired of the left frequently crying "Racist!", "Sexist!", "Misogyny!" when it is unwarranted to the point that the meaning of those words have gotten diluted. Same thing goes for the finger pointing. The person did not argue for fingers to not be pointed. He advised against pointing fingers at other people other than yourself willy-nilly. In another thread, you also accused me for generalizing muslims when I emphasized beforehand that there is a difference between criticizing a religion and criticizing people who follow a religion multiple times. You were also quick to label Fish Tacos to be as full of shame as Trump when he was rather neutral towards the election.

^^This is not okay. Progress can only be made if you listen to everyone's opinions regardless if they are despicable. Telling someone to shut up because they hold opinions you don't like only exacerbates the situation.
Bigoted is the most overused and incorrectly used word from the left

Trump's pick to lead the EPA transition team is a proud climate skeptic.

QuoteWe already know Trump doesn't believe climate change is real, and that his presidency is likely to be a disaster for the planet. Wednesday we got word that Myron Ebell is his pick to lead the Environmental Protection Agency. Ebell is a well-known climate skeptic who wears these credentials proudly.

I guess to build up on the issue of climate change, a lot of politicians, especially the Republicans are rather anti-science. I was hoping that the Democratic Party would, at least, regain control of the Senate if Hillary didn't win and well... looks like we're going to have to deal with a bunch of this for the next 2 years assuming the Democrats can actually win the midterm elections:

The video where he ripped Crowder apart is my favorite one, so far. I think the Trump presidency will keep him a little busy, lol.

2018 will be terrible for dems. Safe Republican seats up. More Democrats seats up. In Republican territory. Dems tend to not show up in mid terms.

equitable treatment under law and environment are my top two political priorities.

what you're asking me to do is to stop pointed out racism when racism occurs.  what you're asking me to do is give up fighting for the principles i believe in because the voters have spoken and decided that equality isn't important.

i accused you of generalizing muslims because you generalized muslims.  you might not want to be confronted by it but it doesn't make your generalization go away and it doesn't mean i'm going to stop fighting for the principles i believe in.

And once again, you're committing the same strawman fallacy. Telling someone to stop crying racism at every turn without caution =/= Telling someone to stop acknowledging racism. The two things are as different as criticizing Islam and generalizing muslims. If you want to prove that I did indeed generalized muslims, then by all means, show me. The burden of proof is on the one who made the positive claim, after all.

Either you don't know how to detect these differences or you vehemently refuse to do so. If this is one of your principles, then I advise dropping this one.

EDIT: Actually I'm going to do the legwork for you.

Quote from: Aura7541 on Jun 22, 2016, 01:12 AMHe didn't say that the shooting was motivated by radical Islam. In response to the criticisms he received, he doubled down, refusing to use the phrase.

Also, there is a major difference between criticizing Muslims and criticizing Islam. The former involves a group of people while the latter involves a religion/ideology. "Omar killed gay people because of Islam" =/= "Omar killed gay people because he's a Muslim". These two phrases have different meanings.
Quote from: Aura7541 on Jun 22, 2016, 01:18 AMA group of people who are involved in a religion/ideology, but does not necessarily follow all of the religion/ideology's doctrines (see Christians for an example).

Then where did the homophobia come from? If your answer is radicalization, what kind of radicalization are you referring to?
Quote from: Aura7541 on Jun 22, 2016, 01:27 AM[In response to your claim that I was judging a religion based of one terrorist group], The Christian religion is not a group of people. Also, the KKK is a fringe group that is close to being dead.
Quote from: Aura7541 on Jun 22, 2016, 03:19 AMHowever, I only agreed on Trump's assessment of the Orlando shooting. Please check my previous responses and you will find I did not say anything about his proposed ban on Muslim immigration into the US. I also do not approve of censorship. Call a spade a spade, no matter what it is. If the shooting was motivated by Christianity, then I will say it was motivated by Christianity. If it was motivated by Islam, then I will say it was motivated by Islam. No religion gets a free pass. Furthermore, if people falsely associate radical Islam to all Muslims, then it is up to us to correct them. Open-dialogue should be the utmost priority. The government's job is not to molly-coddle people's feelings.

How do you know that saying the phrase radical Islam will accomplish nothing? I don't think Obama said so is a valid reason for censorship. The shooter specifically attacked and killed gay people at a club. As a result, people will naturally ask why did he do that? The answer to that would be because of Islam since its texts advocates for killing homosexuals. So how should society respond? By calling out against the homophobia preached by the Qu'ran and the Hadiths. Liberal Muslims should call out Muslims who advocate for such regressive beliefs, which will deter extremists from committing homicide like Omar Mateen as well as preventing Muslims from becoming extremists.

The last part is extremely important because there was a mosque in Orlando who invited a Muslim scholar that called for killing gay people. That is unacceptable and the mosque should be called out for hate speech against homosexuals and be put in the same league as the Westboro Baptist Church. By ripping out the source of anti-gay bigotry, less Muslims would be exposed to that kind of hate and be homophobic.

Like I said at the beginning, I only agreed with Trump's assessment with the shooting. Nothing more, nothing less. Just because I agree with one thing with Trump does not mean I subscribe to all of his ideals. Whether Trump has an effective plan to combat ISIS or not is an entirely separate issue.

The main problem I see from you and Pi is that both of you seem to be unable to distinguish the difference between criticizing a religion/ideology and criticizing people who follow a religion/ideology. The former involves a set of beliefs while the latter involves a group of people who do not necessarily follow all doctrines (e.g. gay Muslims).
^^ I emphasized the distinction multiple times. But hey, I guess the definition of Islam is people who follow the religion of Islam...

You know what's really disgusting about all of this? Earlier today I saw a video on reddit of a group of black people beating up an old dude because he voted Trump, absolutely inexcusable and horrible, however I was not much less disgusted by the rhetoric I found in the reddit comments of that video. People proclaiming that Trump voters would never do something similar and that all the bad things we've heard about Trump supporters doing or threatening of doing, were either made up by the liberals or faked by Hilary.

With this as well, I'm sure there are tons of people out there accusing the makers of these tweets of just making this shame up, it's sickening.
