When did you start becoming good at something you are good at?

Was there a moment that everything just clicked for you?
Did you start working really hard at something, and by the end of it you could see how much better you were at it?

i finally got pretty good at skiing a few years ago..

had a winter with the kids at their moms so i went 3 to 4 times a week lol

Starting doing a lot of math around the time when I started learning how to program.  
Got really good at math and programming.  :D

My brother the other day asked me what a nested function was. I thought it was trivial and something he'd have learned from the first day of any programming class. Then I remembered back to a specific program I wrote where the code was a mess since I didn't know nesting was possible. I mean I'm still a pretty horrible programer today, but modern me could recreate my old programs in my sleep.
