How often will you upgrade?

Sony appears to be doing a one upgrade per gen plan, i.e. PS4 & PS4 Pro -> PS5 & PS5 Pro. Microsoft has come out and said that console generations are the thing of the past for the Xbox. So whether you game on Playstation and/or Xbox, how often will you upgrade?

Personally, I will upgrade every other system for PS. I currently have the PS4, so I'm skipping the PS4 Pro and go straight for the PS5 (assuming that is Sony's plan).

Will probably be getting a PS5 next.  
Don't need a PS4 Pro.  Much better things to spend my money on.

I hate the idea of the end of generations. Will have a Pro for work but probably won't buy one for myself.

I guess I'll just go with whatever system is cheapest that can play all current games.

I'll upgrade every time for a new playstation.  For Xbox, I will likely only upgrade every time the power difference is substantial, like with the scorpio, but will likely wait for a small price drop first.

I was at one point going to game more on PC, but I'm just a fan of consoles and like playing on them more. So i'll stick with consoles pretty much forever.

i have 2 original ps4s.

i'll probably skip the ps4 pro.

after that i'll probably buy one of each ps4.


1. i'll get one ps5 but not replace my other ps4.
2. then i'll get one ps5.5.

i'll put the latest and greatest in my gaming room and have my living room be the one version down from that.
