No Sunset Overdrive 2. Insomniac confirms its not in development.

Seems the first one didnt fare to well. either Microsoft wasnt happy with its sales, or insomniace wasnt. thought it is a shame, the first one seemed really cool. i think they should find a publisher for the second one, and release it on PS4, XB1 and PC. i think that way it can get more sales to sustain the franchise.

Sucks that there won't be a sequel. At least Insomniac's experience with Sunset Overdrive will translate well into Spiderman...

I think it's more a situation where Insomniac already has its hands full with multiple projects. Sure, Microsoft probably isn't banging down their door for a sequel but I don't think anyone is, really.

or they could just make spiderman.  seems like a more promising future to me.  not point in "sustaining" a franchise when another one would do better.

I think it's fun that our opinion went from Insomniac fighting for scraps to too busy with their AAA game thanks to E3.

prior to the spiderman announcement they looked to be washed up.  1 indie-esque 2D shooter.  3 tech demos for OR.   ..all after the failure with EA and the at best mild success with MS. 

and i'm still unsure if spiderman will be well received but i think it has a better chance at success than SO2.  that franchise came and went without much fanfare.  i think it would take an enormous marketing effort to change gamers minds on the franchise.  spiderman on the otherhand has amazing market awareness especially in the part of the market that has no idea who insomniac is.  as long as the game isn't total shame it should outsell SO.
