Well the costs keep going up to get the same treatment, thanks obama

It's shame, but it pales in comparison to that of the USA, seriously I have never seen a country so iced up with its health care

DerNebel

Way too expensive, seriously I have to pay 80 € a month for health insurance, are you kidding me? :p

I believe we have the best health care system in the world. Or, at least, its the best if you're looking at it from a selfish point of view.

I think the NHS is too free; people can do all kinds of shame, give themselves some serious health issues and have their treatment fully paid for by the NHS. It costs our government £120bn a year, we really can't afford it.

People are too opposed to privatizing it more to get people to pay for some things, because they don't realize how much it costs. Oh well.

Even with these problems, its still amazing. Much closer to being perfect than pretty much all other countries.

It's average. Cost has been increasing for patients the past few years (still coming nowhere close to American levels) and our only real hospital is like half a century old. We've been planning to build a new high tech one for about 16 years and it may finally be starting now, but in a bad spot imo.

At least the health care staff here is good in general, with most of the specialists having specialized abroad at good hospitals (Sweden, USA, UK, Norway, Denmark, Holland etc.).
We're still understaffed almost everywhere and it's  only getting worse with the increasing age of the nation

:o
Dang that's tiny though.
That's an average of $2695.47  (US dollars) per citizen.
Whereas the average in the US is $5500.

Pretty funny how it is in the US tho. Spend so much on it yet people often have to pay thousands of dollars for minor stuff. I guess it has something to do with health insurance?

Its very substantial though. Our country's deficit is currently £70bn a year, so without so much spending on an NHS we'd be running a surplus.

Actually I just looked it up and we now spend £145bn a year on health care, which is 19% of the total £772bn our goverment spent last year. I guess that's fairly high but not as high compared to other countries as I thought.

Our biggest problem is welfare, our benefits system is far too generous and its far too easy to exploit it and get more money than you deserve.

Yeah, that's a part of it.

Just for fun, this is what the US spends yearly on military:  £416,247,534,000

I'm very much in favor of public healthcare.

Wow, what's that like 7% of their total budget?
I think our military spending is capped at 2% of our spending.

Just shows how idiotic the people running our countries are.
