Quick comparison of the pricing in the Indian Windows store/ Quantum Break is four and a half times more expensive than Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Apparently, you can bruce force it to look a bit nicer via DSR to 4K, but it's still not native and run at 20fps on 980Ti. Moreover, it seems that the game is using the same resolution reconstruction technique as on XBO hence the blurry IQ. More gaf impressions at the PC Performance thread. Update: PC vs XB1 comparison.

This video shows it clearly. 60fps footage where the X1 is smoother than the PC version.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsvZ9lQPsro

The game has no AF options by default.

We are monitoring the discussio and what is going on. I had written a longer response, but it's just gonna be misunderstood etc, so what I will say is that,  rest assured, lot of of work went into the Win10 version and we are looking at the reactions now as well as potential issues.

Nobody expected this!

Man MS is really making a great case for their UWP thing at the moment.

the-pi-guy

It just sounds like they pretty much just moved the XBO version over without hardly any changes.  (Which makes sense given timing).
Hopefully they will fix it up. :P

i completely get wanting to make it as easy as possible to get software ported between their various devices but i just don't get how ms could ever come to the conclusion that putting the exact same software on each of their devices is a good idea...

5 TF horse power = 10 TF PC equivalent.  Xbox One will destroy everything.  ;)

QuoteQuantum Break has arrived on the PC and to suggest that the results are disappointing would be a massive understatement. PC gamers are left out in the cold with another high profile release failing to deliver expected levels of performance, features and customisation. As things stand, it simply isn't possible to achieve a smooth frame-rate on any PC hardware configuration and thanks to the profound limitations imposed on gamers by the Universal Windows Platform, there's no way to fix it.
QuoteWe really enjoyed Quantum Break on Xbox One and the promise of using additional horsepower to smooth out the game's issues and play at 60fps was a huge lure in us fronting up the cash to buy the PC game, but the bottom line is that the PC version is a profound disappointment. The few improvements on offer cannot offset the major performance and image quality issues present in this port. What really stings is that some of these issues could be addressed by the community right now if not for the limitations of the Universal Windows Platform. We've expressed concerns over Microsoft's multi-platform initiative in the past and this situation is a perfect example of why. Until these limitations are removed from UWP, it's really hard to recommend purchasing any game that runs on it.

I seriously wanna know what they did with the esram that's preventing this from running better on a far more powerful PC.  This doesn't make sense.

i'm no technical expert but i'd think it isn't what they did but what they didn't do: optimize for pc.   a single code base that runs the same on any device,.. that's the point of the universal windows platform right?  that's what we all want right?

Considering the entire situation, it reads more along the lines of rushed port more so than Xbox One wizardry.

darkknightkryta

Except the hardware and APIs are the same.  The only difference is the esram.  If I optimize something for an i3, it's going to run a lot better on an i7 regardless.
