Every Xbox One a Devkit and Universal Apps for Xbox One coming this Summer - NeoGAF

So 3 years later, one of the big launch talking points is finally happening at a point when Xbox One looks to be losing whatever steam it had. Right after Microsoft's first party efforts have nose dived.

*devkit for "Universal Windows Program," which means only 1GB of RAM available. This is nothing like they spinned at the start of the gen.

Nice, I'll make Solitaire for Xbox One.

** to distribute the game/app on XBOX, you still need to register with ID@XBOX like every other developer. Your app needs to adhere to the same standards as professional software.

*** XBOXs are converted to DEV MODE and may have trouble playing retail games. To turn off DEV MODE, the console must be reset and all games uninstalled.


For professional app developers this may be useful, since essentially it just lets them buy dev/test kits for $300.

For everyone else, it seems riddled with issues.

1GB ram capped.  have to uninstall all games between modes.
