There were a lot of rumors and speculation that this was going to happen. The game was taking too long between updates on its progress and I'm willing to bet the scope of the project was something that Daybreak's new owners weren't willing to fork out. Still, a bit surprising that it did happen considering that the EverQuest IP was the only thing SOE had that was really worth anything.

Was kinda interested in the game though. Looked great.

so what is daybreak doing?   seems like a shell company now.

They have a couple of games running yet.  
It's mostly H1Z1 going forward though, which they split into 2 games.
