- Sony Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida responded to a question about the death of console gaming as is being *predicted by Michael Patcher during a livestreamed panel from EGX in Birmingham, he said:
"Michael is fun to listen to, right? (laughs)
[...]
We look at all of these analyst reports, and every year, from the same company, the forecast changes hugely, because of the things that happen in the year before. They change their prediction dramatically.
I don't, you know, mind hearing something like that, because it's so interesting... Consoles were announced dead for the longest time. Even at the time when PlayStation One was being worked on, some analyst said that PC games would dominate in the future and there would be no place for home consoles.
Every time these things are proven wrong, and as long as we have passionate people wanting to continue to play on game consoles, we wll try hard to continue, and even make it bigger for the future."
- *Michael Patcher said next generation would be half as big as the current one though, not that consoles would outright die and that console gaming should not require a console...
- Yoshida also talked about PlayStation remastered and how Sony is selectively picking PS3 games to remastered as allegedly about half of those who own a PS4 did not own a PS3
- when asked about what Sony Bend is doing he teased that they "exists, and they are making some awesome cool game."

Just click the basic editor (the one that looks like a sheet of paper) then paste.
It'll copy and paste just the text without any fancy formatting.  Usually at least.

Someone from the chertz was saying his job is to analyze the market on current trends... No, it isn't. It's to analyze the market on current trends and anticipate future trends (like price cuts). Besides, even on current trends it doesn't explain how he can be so fudgy wrong. 100m xbox ones? Not based on current trends.

I think 50 million will be the best case scenario for the console. That's assuming that PS4 doesn't ever manage to start running away with the North American market. Which could happen between price drops and depending on how long it takes for the Xbox One to get a strong lineup going.

His job is to tell people if they should invest.

As long as he's correct more than 50% of the time, his clients make money!

This holiday will determine everything. XBO just needs to show last year wasn't a fluke.
