I love that the game is much more consistent in its art style than Dark Souls, there's no area like Lost Izalith in there that's just butt ugly.

I think I'll get my second ending trophy and the Chalice trophy (beat Amigdala, yay) with my current character and then I'll make a new hunter for the last ending, am interested in doing a strength build now, just not sure which weapon I'll use yet, I wanna be a bit more creative than using Ludwigs Blade.

Alternatively I'll get the last ending as a speedrun on NG++, wonder how fast I could do it.

Actually, just read up on the burial blade and it sounds pretty awesome. I just won't be able to upgrade it to +10 like my Ludwig's. Actually I don't think I have enough mats to upgrade it much at all

No idea honestly, but I have the burial blade at +8, maybe I'll try it out some time. Though I believe I read from an early user that the burial blade was pretty op, so I think it should be good, but looking at the stats of Ludwigs sword I think it's crazy how good its scaling is.

Overall in PvE I think all weapons are viable in most situations, you really just gotta find the one that you like the best and get good with it.

is there a way to roll sideways while locked onto a target?  or am i forever stuck side stepping which leaves me open to attacks?


this defiled chalice is pissing me off   i got past the first boss, nut im at the second, and i just cant do it.  every walkthrough i find they use ludwigs..  whichs means if iom stuck usong that weapon i gotta spend hours grinding so i can get my strength to a reasonable level

I can somewhat get around, but every once in a while ill need to roll instead of sidestep, but because im locked on, its utterly impossible to do that, so ill get hit, then die since i have such low hp...  ive complained about the control change that happens when you lock on to someone since day 1, and its still pissing me off   ive tried doing it without, but i just cant use the face buttons and the right joystick at the same time that fast. i can for the occasional, but not constantly like that for a boss fight   I really wish they had a way to lock the camera on a target, but not lock the characters aim.

Can I guess? You're getting killed by the dogs ram attack. Happened to my quite a few times as well.

Are you using the Cane Whip? That's what I used. I always stayed somewhat close in front of him, get close so he starts his attack where he swings his head to one side, backstep to avoid, then go in to hit him, immediately backstep again, rinse and repeat. When he follows the attack up with his bite then you just have to backstep further, when you see him starting his ram, immediately sidestep a couple times, this takes quite a bit of concentration to not fudge up, when he starts spewing lava you can go to his side to get a couple hits in, he also has this AoE attack he does sometimes, though I'm not sure if he only does that when switching phases, back up when he does it.

well luckily it isnt to hard to get to lol you can run right past the lala frenzy enemies aslong as you have sedatives.  so it should still be there

well luckily it isnt to hard to get to lol you can run right past the lala frenzy enemies aslong as you have sedatives.  so it should still be there

I killed all of these lala

BTW NG+ is too easy or I finished the game overleveled... two bosses already in first try.

Way easier imo at least from the bosses, the flaming dog and Amygdala at half health were way more difficult (or you had to at least be way more careful and strategical) than the last chalices' bosses to me.
